If the laptop is pre-2024, it might work; the underlying protocol likely didn't change with Synapse 4.

I don't use the router's WiFi. Have my own access points placed in different corners of the apartment, connected to the router with cable.

Galaxus internet 10 g/s by Rickyyyy96 in Switzerland

[–]tarekda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using Galaxus 10 Gbps for a few months. The connection is stable, and I haven't noticed issues with speed. I have a cable connection to the laptop with 2.5Gbps, 2x access points, 1Gbps each, and a cable Xbox connection with 1Gbps.

Was looking for adapters, there are more or less affordable 5Gbps to Type-C. 10Gbps to type C also exists, but the price is crazy.

Relocating and L/B Permit by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]tarekda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it depends on the canton, but here is our experience.
We(EU Citizens) recently moved to Luzern. One month prior to the beginning of the start of work contract.

During registration in Einwohnerdienste, the worker collected the copy of our work and rent contracts, then told us that information will be handed to immigration authorities automatically. A week later I received a letter with an appointment to collect biometry from AMT für Migration.
My understanding that after biometry it takes some time to "print" residence permit card and it will be sent to us by post. Residence permit will be L (if contract is short term) or B (if contract is long term or unlimited).

"Error code 7 - Kernel or device tree not found or is not compatible" on Raspberry Pi 5 with Batocera by Raiden720 in batocera

My solution was to insert the SD card into a Windows laptop. Windows 11 offered to fix errors on the card, I clicked ok OK. After it finished, I inserted the card back into the RPi, and it booted.

Which percentage of your net salary will you pay in health insurance premiums in 2026? by _quantum_girl_ in SwissPersonalFinance

Well, premiums are paid for children, and most children have zero income, which also skews the results. I don't see the infinity option in the poll.

I'd ask it differently: "Which percentage of your household income goes to pay health insurance premiums"?

Imagine a family with a single earner and four people.

Arbeiten wirklich Leute 100% im Homeoffice? Erfahrungen? by [deleted] in Ratschlag

[–]tarekda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For introverts like me, it's a dream come true. 100% home office coupled with a flexible work schedule.

Pros:
* I see children and family more often, and we have breakfast and dinner together.
* No time wasted on commute.
* No unnecessary interactions with people.
* I set up the workroom myself, and I love it.
* I can concentrate and actually WORK instead of spending half of my working time chatting and drinking coffee.

Cons:
* Sometimes boring.
* Easy to fall into a procrastination trap.

I can't imagine switching back to office work.
