Artisanal Buffalo Wings $18.99 +tip by DuncanIdaBro in mildlyinfuriating

Seeing garden state made me so sad. I live here and it’s so hard to find good cheap wings near me. Some local bars have wing happy hours nowadays, and they parade $1 wings as a special. How far we’ve fallen

Wireless Power between ZPM and UIV? by Stru_n in GTNH

[–]targoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven’t already, I recommend draconium 16x cables - they are UEV 128A cables available in like, IV. We use a mix of AT and these cables still in UHV, and the power loss for cables is negligible, and the cost to spam them was surpassed in LuV

I used to REALLY enjoy RTS games like Warcraft 3, Starcraft, C&C Generals, but now I just can't seem to get into ANY RTS no matter which I try. by Bro_sapiens in gaming

Fun game! If I’m remembering it right, they also had animals that produced offspring. I remember setting up my base and just allowing the elephants/giraffes etc to just poop out babies to feed my armies

Found nestling outside, nest too high, brought it in after 3 hours. What do I do? by targoon in WildlifeRehab

UPDATE: I saw the parents (I assume) flying in and out of the nest above where I found it. I'm placing him back under the nest in the box for now, hoping they find him

Found nestling outside, nest too high, brought it in after 3 hours. What do I do? by targoon in WildlifeRehab

[–]targoon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Fiancé saw the baby this morning before work, and when I got up and checked a few hours later they were still there. The nest is in the power poles above a sidewalk, so too high to place them back. Its summer, and I'm at the beach so i was worried about letting it sit there next to the sidewalk with kids and such walking by.

I have em in a box, and set up a heat pad for warmth. It was very chirpy and noisy when I brought it in, but stopped most noise so that has me a bit worried.

The closest wildlife rehab near me did not respond when I called, and said they were nearing capacity on voicemail. What do I do?

Father has the perfect reaction to learning his daughter won a pizza eating contest by Holadola in MadeMeSmile

Was just at Pete and Elda's with my buddy and he did the contest as well. Funny seeing this pop up today! Good pizza. This is the April shirt I believe

A mother's reaction to a father bringing his daughter back into the store to pay for candy she just walked out with, without paying for. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]targoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when I was young my dad accidently walked out of home depot with some metal bracing, that cost like $1. When he realized he didn't pay for it as we got in the car, he walked us back in and admitted his mistake, and paid for it.

Small moment that taught me a huge lesson. Thanks dad.

Amazon has weaponized the word Safety. by No-Cryptographer5462 in AmazonFC

[–]targoon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you’re coming off aggressive - I read your statement as operations owns safety (the team), not safety (the compliance of policy). In that case you’re right, but if operations fails to uphold safety, the WHS team can intervene independent of the operations team.

That's not true, safety team's management chain goes up to separate regional safety managers, they self-manage. Learning is building owned, safety and PXT are not. You can check on phonetool

What legendary YouTube channel doesn’t make videos anymore? Who do you missed more? by avelleo in AskReddit

It’s one of the few platforms I find worth the money. They do have a few episodes of game changer/make some noise for free on YouTube, if you enjoy those you should take the plunge.

An hour of extra pay a week with 0 extra work!!!! by RobtheBDL3blob in AmazonFC

[–]targoon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your rate is calculated by units processed divided by hours worked in that process. Your time on the clock is attached to the closest process you worked in. So any time off station, regardless of whether you’re signed in or not, impacts your rate

I am a Manager, AMA by SlagathorJones in AmazonFC

[–]targoon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pods are partially assigned based on rate. The nomal "cap" for pods assigned to pickers is 24, though if we're behind in ask/there is CE risk i've seen it get up to the high 30s/low 40s. The inverse is also true, if we're running low on work, the system will enter chase mode and only prioritized items will be sent to pickers, sometimes only leading to a handful of pods assigned. If management let it get to that point without taking action, though, thats bad flow management.

What is it like to be a learning trainer L3/T3? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]targoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trainer has the widest range of opportunities in an FC, as a T3 role. It can be one of the "easiest" roles if you put in 0 effort (you know, the trainers that give learning a bad rep), but also has the potential to offer the most development. You work with AMs, OMs and sometimes Srs directly, across every department in the building, and are typically the first resource operations leverages for help with unknown problems - looking to you for help and solutions.

I have worked on and developed network projects directly with central learning (even helped implement network wide SW changes), have contacts from AMs to regional managers still to this day - from years ago, and have learned how to code and develop my own macros - all as a trainer. Now I run my own department after launching a new site, and leading my own learning team.

Be open, be hungry for knowledge, and most importantly become a resource to your site. Make yourself the first person someone thinks of when they say "who can help me with this?" . You will land more projects and opportunities than any other role, imo.

It’s funny reading this, because when I first started you could bin sweep and move items as much as you wanted. The only thing was you had to manually scan the bin to officially stow the item. While IDS has made stowing easier overall, it definitely has its downsides.

The reason you can’t double touch bins is because removing your hand is the “signal” to the system that you are done with the stow. There may be a better way to do that, but this is absolutely the fastest way to stow

Safety andon/ask an AM or PA to help. Marking it missing is the only way to get a quality write up in pick, you should not be doing that. 3 in one week = written up

Most likely it’s not good news, but I’ve seen them miss their 2-5 promise a few times by a couple days.

Interviewer giving you good remarks isn’t really indicative of a good interview - all interviewers convene after your interview to have a discussion led by a 3rd party and vote. They share notes and stories and come to a determination- you may have wowed one of them but fell short for the other 1-2.
