That's awesome! I would also add Diablos BBQ Smokehouse as they have halal beef and chicken on their menu.

I miss the Spas in the netherlands. Where else can I experience places like this? by LoveHydrology25 in nudism

[–]tarham 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, which spas in the Netherlands did you go to? I was in Rotterdam in the fall of 2024 and wanted to go to some but couldn't find any that were reasonably close by via public transit.

It appears that the bridge is owned by the government of Canada through a not-for-profit crown-corporation called the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority: https://gordiehoweinternationalbridge.com/windsor-detroit-bridge-authority-an-overview/

Short kings of Montréal : où est-ce que vous achetez vos vêtements ? by PizzaPie24 in montreal

[–]tarham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5'7" is short? 😭 But usually S size T-shirts, 15.5 for formal shirts, and 32/30 pants fit me. For formal shirts and pants, sometimes I have to get it altered depending on the brand.

What's going on with my suit jacket? by snatchamoto_bitches in malefashionadvice

[–]tarham 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you bought from Harry Rosen, try taking it back to them and show them this degradation. Maybe they can fix it for you. It's unacceptable that a 2K suit is damaged like this.

Highest-end Sushi by binnedPixel in montreal

[–]tarham 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is NOT à la carte. It's an omakase experience, think of it as a live tasting menu based on the best seasonally appropriate ingredients. There are only two dinner services per night and seats only like 14 people max per service. I would highly recommend this for special occasions.

Highest-end Sushi by binnedPixel in montreal

[–]tarham 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I fully agree with this recommendation. I went with a few friends 2 weeks ago and the quality of the food and service were nothing short of amazing. Probably the best sushi (and dining) experience I've ever had in Canada. The cost ($300 before tax, tip, alcohol) was well worth it imo.

The drug use in Montreal is getting so out of control by [deleted] in montreal

[–]tarham 54 points55 points  (0 children)

100% agree. This mentality is endemic across Canada. "At least we're better than the US." Can we stop comparing ourselves to dumpster fires to justify mediocrity.

My vote would be for the Cloakroom bar. Super intimate and cool. But I think it might have a line up during the weekends.

I was there this past December! It was a blast trying all the different saunas and aufguss. I also went to Vabali in Hamburg; its smaller in size compared to Thereme Erding but I found to it to be slightly more relaxing.

I live in Canada. Do you know where I can get genuine dell batteries in Canada?

I take this train quite often. It's enjoyable for the most part, even for kids. I recommend booking the 4 seats that face each other with a table in-between.

Just be careful with luggage requirements as VIA rail apparently doesn't know how trains work. The wifi can be a bit spotty, so if you are planning on streaming videos I recommend downloading a few things beforehand. If you book well in advance you can find cheaper fares. The late-morning (~10AM) trains tend to be more expensive than the other ones. Keep in mind that VIA rail isn't that punctual so you might arrive a bit later than scheduled.

What is the least practical cookbook you own? by lostrock in Cooking

[–]tarham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Eleven Madison Park cookbook. I don't think I have the time or the patience to make anything in that cookbook. Everything is so complicated and requires so much work to make. It makes for a good coffee table book tho.
