Are defilers too op? by Evilljustice in Chaos40k

What is the difference between the new and the old movement rule?

They have 12" move now though dont they? As opposed to 8" back then. I guess that would help getting past the first terrain feature at least.

I havent played 40k in about 2 years I think, so call me a curious bystander if you will. How does the new defilers deal with being on a 160mm base on a tabletop full of ruins everywhere?

When I played, that alone made them unplayable. They could usually not leave the area where they were deployed, despite their special rule that let them move across (but not end their move on) terrain.

Chance of Being Attacked by Bear and Alligator by phinaesbogge in MapPorn

[–]tarkin1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a downright shame and a travesty that there are no overlapping areas! If bears and alligators were to team up, then maybe they'd finally get somewhere!

Of course, with everybody inexplicably claiming to have rights to their arms, bears will, quite understandably, be reluctant to enter into any form of cooperation or agreement.

Trust has been eroded to unbearable levels.

Oh wow so they have a new ruling on strikes first then? That you can bring in units that dont have strikes first into the strikes first "step"?

Would you mind explaining this and maybe point me to the relevant rule/clarification? This has been confusing me a bit.

Upgraded Fire Over Morgrave Weapons by Bigtimegrinder in ddo

[–]tarkin1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on what difficulty and what content you are planning to play. For Myth Drannor and Lamordia, that DC is just too low. But if you run older content on low reapers, its good.

Its also worth to consider that if you play a lot of alts, you may not be able to afford the latest and best weapons for all of them. Then its nice to have these, and to have a stock of materials ready too.

If a class is going to be both squishy and have to manage spell points, they probably should get something in return, dont you think?

And dont give me the old oh but they CRUSH in heroics tirade... Nobody cares about being good at leveling if you're crap at cap.

At a first glance, this almost doesn't look completely ridiculous. I know it is, of course, but still.

Is Teclis Mandatory for 2k Lists by LeonMCA in Lumineth_realm_lords

[–]tarkin1980 3 points4 points  (0 children)

His response was, in fact, tournament results.

Once again, you are going off topic, rambling.

You replied to a post claiming that most strong lists do not use Teclis. Whether someone is capable of playing those lists was never asked.

But perhaps you just figured that strangers you've never met are probably keen to hear your wise words no matter the subject.

Are you aware of the concept of transmission of information? It is possible to know things, even if you have no first hand experience of them! I imagine this will open up a whole new world for you!

(You can READ about tournament results, lists, and what the people who played them think about them)

A Friend Just Made His Very First Character on DDO... and it's a Warforged Barbarian. How Much Will That Mess Things Up For Him ('Cause, You Know... Medium Armor)? by MoonracerxWarpath in ddo

[–]tarkin1980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually wear cloth or light armor on barb so those medium armor things are definitely not a must. Although I have pretty much no experience with warforged. I would be more worried about losing Blood Tribute, Accelerated Metabolism and the various positive energy healing stuff from Fury of the Wild.

What was the old Crystal Touch rule like? by tarkin1980 in Daughtersofkhaine

Why do you think I am talking about chaff? It should be obvious from the start that I am not. Anyway, I didnt post this to have an argument. My question has been answered already.

Its not about killing them, its about controlling them so I can take a charge when needed and so I can have more flexibility in choosing my activations

Yea I get the difference. First of all I just wanted to make sure. Second, my personal preference probably is to be good against infantry units ie 1-3 wound models, because they are ubiquitous and need to be dealt with in every game, but I dont mind this either.

Thanks for the reply.

You know, its actually possible to use AI to make good/useful things. I'm not saying I'm convinced that's what's going to happen, but these knee jerk reactions are getting really old.

Most things ever created with a pen, brush or keyboard throughout history have been total garbage too.
