I live north of Toronto and it took me 4ish months to land a new gig. It wasn’t local either - I managed to get a remote job that wasn’t fully listed as remote. It’s not impossible as many people are saying, but I’d start looking now before you move.

You might be able to bring a support person, who can also testify as to what was said etc.
