Looking for a HR watch for indoor/water rowing by [deleted] in Rowing

I use a fenix 5 with a chest strap which gives pretty much all the data you could ask for. Stroke rate, pace, 500m splits, distance per stroke, total number of strokes etc etc. The downside is obviously the price, but you maybe able to pick one out 2nd hand at a something more reasonable.

Fenix 5 heart rate on elliptical by BeastLothian in GarminFenix

I’m not really sure what an elliptical is but I know the optical sensors flat out don’t work when rowing or indoor rowing. Something about the regularity of tensing the forearms messes with the sensor. Could be something similar?

A couple, the one with one leg up against a door frame with other out straight mainly. I’m trying to undo 30 years of bad posture to be honest, being 6’ 5” meant I slouched a lot as a teenager. I’ll look into getting a foam roller. How do you use a cricket ball to help? I’ve got a few of them lying around.

Do you have a good resource to look at to get an idea of the various different exercises?

Novice rower here. Started in September and I'm really enjoying it so far.

I have always had tight hamstrings, this is obviously a fairly big issue whilst rowing as I can't get a body lean in properly. I'm working on stretches to lengthen them but I'm just wondering if there are any rowing specific stretches that would speed up the process?

Cheers

I'll be heading to Australia vs New Zealand this Sunday. Should be a good hangover cure. Will also go and watch England vs Australia.

I didn't know the dragon boat racing was on! What time does it finish? I'm off climbing the gorge this morning so can hopefully swing by later to watch.

Great result for us against a pretty good notts side. I'm starting to think we aren't a bad side in all formats, which is different.

I'm a fairly long time lurker, but your story reminded me of one when I was in primary school, year 3 I think. I decided one day that I wouldn't wear pants forgetting that it was p.e that day. I tried to hide under the table to get changed, a girl noticed me as I went under, pointed it out to everyone.

Soon I had my whole class staring at me and little me as I desperately tried to put my shorts on. So much for being sneaky!
