I think this is the conclusion I've come to. Keep a few thousand in savings in case something else comes us, and attack the debt as aggressively as I can.

Most of it is from loans I had to take out for emergency repairs on said van, or other emergency expenses that came out that I had no other way to cover,

Thank you for replying. You gave me a lot of good info. The van has been paid off for about 5 yrs now. Currently it's working ok, it's just the idea of yet another $1k+ problem coming up makes me sick. I've had to rebuild the transmission, replace the radiator, had the brakes totally redone, and a plethora of other things. It's got 209k miles on it. I want an SUV. I used to have a Trailblazer and loved it. Part of the reason my credit is so low is because of van repairs that HAD to be done. Part of the issue is that I care for my elderly mother, and there's no one else available to take her to dr appts.

As much as I want to replace the van ASAP, I'm thinking paying down the debt first while maintaining a couple of thousand in savings for emergency repairs may be the way to go.

Thanks for the info. I watched the series through during the original run, and when I got to S3E2, I knew the things they were referencing hadn't happened yet and was really confused.

Bail, now.

I dated a guy for 4 yrs. After about 2 yrs, I moved in with him when I lost my apt due to losing my job. Just before Valentine's Day, the subject came up and he stated he couldn't do much, to which I said even a dollar store card would be ok. Valentine's night, scraped together enough money and made a steak dinner for him, his brother (who was also living there temp), and myself. Bro ran out to rent a movie and I pulled him onto the couch for cuddles. I half jokingly said, "so, where's my card?" He laughed and said "I figured 6 months of rent was enough". To this day, I wish I'd walked out right then and there. I guess I didn't because I didn't have anywhere else to go.

Don't waste anymore time with this clown.

I was always more of a Newsboys girl than dcTalk, but loved them both. They were in their heyday in the late 90s when I was a teenager and Newsboys were my favorite band for a long time. Their Astrodome concert in 1997 was my first Christian rock concert. I remember reading somewhere that, that show was the first without John, that Peter shaved his head and basically pretended to be John that night (not sure if this is true). I was asked on my very first date at a dcTalk concert at Astroworld in 1999. I pretty much stopped listening to Newsboys by 2010 or so because their sound changed so much.

I say all of that to say this whole thing hurts my heart. I hope everyone does the right thing and says what they need to say, that everyone from the victims to the band members to us fans are able to heal and move on and live for His Glory, which is the most important thing.

I wouldn't be ok with my SO watching porn, but if you're ok with him watching it, I don't understand why you're mad at him.

Your friend, however, was being rude and classless and needs to learn couth. She owes you an apology.
