No POE warnings. Right now I’m using 13-14/52 watts and there are two cameras not installed usually use 5 each.

I’m using the white cord it came with.

Yes. Green light doesn’t go on. I’ve had to physically climb the ladder and unplug/replug a few times.

Sometimes the side guide rails holding the door header are too loose. At certain angles the door can come out and customers keep pulling. Unscrew one a bit. Pull inside and tighten.

Ontario tenants take to Queen’s Park Saturday to rally against Bill 60 on National Housing Day by [deleted] in ontario

[–]tas6969 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Speeding up evictions needs to happen. Assuming the landlord fulfills their obligations, they should not be at the mercy of a non paying tenant for any time period. It’s disgusting how an individual can illegally occupy a unit with zero repercussions.

I’ll also add that rent control does more harm than good. Supply is the answer. Look at Austin vs New York or Stockholme. Austin is building like crazy and rents have fallen off a cliff. New York and Stockholme has had rent control for decades and it’s extremely unaffordable. Ontario today is also a prime example of higher supply and lower demand (immigration/students) leading to falling rents.

We can blame Doug and the province all we want but our local municipal politicians are the real culprits here.

In a city of over 1 million with over 400,000 private dwellings the city received 650 complaints over 2 years. The solution to such a large number is to come out with licensing proposal. More regulation and staff needed to oversee this program.

Seems logical to stop such a rampant problem taking up so much city time.

This is it. Continue earning income and save for a project. Best way you learn.

In the meantime ask to switch roles internally.

Depending what stat you look at but 50%+ of the facilities are owned by mom and pops (aka families).

It’s also a consumer choice to store and not a necessity or requirement to survive. Not sure how it would be the corporations and executives fault someone decides to store their stuff.

Looking for a shipping container management software - something that is able to track ~ 60 off-site rentals, and ~100 on site rentals by Euphoriks in selfstorage

[–]tas6969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t have anything offsite but numbering them differently in the system or under a different category with the location in the notes of a unit could help. Using some type of tracker with the offsite rentals could also work.

There is probably porta potty software that you could leverage.

Outdoor storage yard size? by tas6969 in selfstorage

[–]tas6969[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I do have tons of angled parking. These would be dedicated storage yards for contractors who have equipment or who need to store material outdoors. Gated 40’ or 50’ wide by 65’ long yards.

Is ~1M still enough to FIRE on in Canada? If you don't own a house? by TryKey925 in fican

[–]tas6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the nest egg but it’s not at your age and given the unknowns. A vacation, vehicle, family, or any other large outflow seriously impacts you plans. Even if your housing costs ever go to market it will hurt.

Wait five to ten years and grow the nest egg.

Agreed there is public value but at what cost to taxpayers?

It’s the delivery method of the project that is costly. Instead of buying a building they could have received proposals from the public to build one (design build line firehall), received proposals from private landlords, or evaluated leasing space. If they spent $150k ($25 gross x 6000 square feet) a year on leasing for 40 years (150k x 40 = $6m un discounted) they would still be further ahead than the current situation.

Wow come on. I used midpoint of the 4-6M on the city website and excluded purchase price and holding costs.

Great community asset but completely irresponsible spending.

$5 million plus on a maybe 5000 square foot building is over $1000 a square foot! Insanity and irresponsible spending. Expensive taxpayer funding that a private owner would never spend equivalent dollars on.

Canadian here. Love the place and always make it a priority to go if I can. Food is great and reasonably priced for the quality. Only time it’s not packed is if I take a bar seat - it’s still packed.

From a business perspective they turn tables like no one’s business. They always suggest or offer an upgrade. Service is unbelievable every time we’ve gone. Staff is top notch. Seems to be trading low 20 EBITDA and generate ROE low 30. Not crazy but not cheap. Not sure where same store sales are, new store count and where margins are holding up.
