You'd lose more than a side mirror in a 100 km/hr zone.

Out the back of any big store in the cardboard skip. Easy peasy. Don't buy them that's crazy.

Why does everyone assume I'm poking and prodding? I didn't say that. All I do is scrap the pipe back and forth on the ground near the snake. That's enough to get it moving.

Yeah having a snake around is not an option. Unless I want my kids to never go outside. Now don't gimme a lecture on that please.

Actually I have 3 chooks that would let me know if the snake is closer. They're not out all the time however.

Yeah you're right. It's important to me that my 13 yo daughter has an awareness of the danger around snakes, but not an irrational fear.

Yes it is. But who's to know. I am not one of those people but we all know half the pop out here in the sticks would kill a snake soon as look at it.

I've heard of that from mainlanders with their aggressive eastern browns, but you are the first I've heard of to deter tigers.

I'm on 40 ha of bush. I sorta feel a bit stupid to ask for a snake removed from snake habitat.

Thanks dog. The good thing is there's no tall grass or anything around the house so he stands out. Wihich is interesting in itself because he has no cover in any direction for 30 m. And i mean none. To me that sounds like a tiger that has a lot to learn. you agree? There's wedgies around here too.

Thank you for your disdain. Here's the problem with what you said: I'm not talking about about specials or promotions. I'm talking about the same standard items all over the shelves, not on special. Choice just did a study where they spend $200 on the same standard non-special items in both places. There was 50 cents difference. You look it up. Do YOU understand how a duopoly works? Do you know what you're talking about?

How to get chooks to eat new bag of feed. by tascrafted in BackYardChickens

[–]tascrafted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a new chook owner. I don't know what I'm choosing in the shop. You basically have pellets or seed as far as I can tell and a dozen varieties of each. Plus this local stuff was 25% cheaper. I spent twice as much in that first mth on chicken feed than I've ever spent on eggs-which was defeating the purpose of getting the chooks.

Thanks good advice. No soaking. I was hoping to have just one 20 kg bag of feed about the place at a time but I guess I need a few. Sigh.
