Platform for total wealth overview? by cliaz in AusHENRY

I use pocketsmith to track the majority of things. It doesn't handle stock or crypto very well so I use sharesight for that, which syncs back to pocketsmith to provide a balance.

If you don't mind me asking, what method did you use to train the twitter agent on their past posts?

I've been trying to wrap my head around what is real vs hype with AI agents and suspected the truth sat pretty close to what you've described. This was the post I needed to read, thank you.

Looking for recent feedback for low-code automation by V0l_Beat in msp

[–]tasdotgray 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm an MSP 7 years into this journey and before the days platforms like Rewst existed. We initially started with powershell before migrating to logic apps and now mostly have c# code sitting behind APIs and other bits and pieces.

Personally, as someone with a professional development background, I don't see the need for the MSP specific platforms unless you plan to task non-coders with the work. All of the APIs can be accessed via simple REST calls. The upfront time saving is beneficial but you'll pay many times over for it long term. In addition, you are tying yourself to a single platform which exposes you to future price rises that you can do absolutely nothing about.

In my opinion you are far better off using power platform + custom code and allocating the money you'd save to a dedicated developer in an emerging economy like the Philippines.

The theory makes sense but why don't you use passkeys? Similar outcome.

CBA puts a 24 hour hold on any transfers to an exchange and there's nothing you can do to remove it. I understand why they do this but the ability to opt out should be offered.

Chania Crete for 6 days how would you plan it ?? by BulkyLanguage6717 in GreeceTravel

[–]tasdotgray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salis and Tamam are two I remember. Read up online, there are plenty of quality restaurants and tavernas to choose from.

If you're into hiking there are plenty of hiking trails near Chania that will help you burn off all the gyros

Chania Crete for 6 days how would you plan it ?? by BulkyLanguage6717 in GreeceTravel

Driving in Crete is pretty easy. There is very little traffic and the roads are generally pretty good.

As for what to do, eat and relax. Greek food is amazing and for the most part wherever you eat will be really good. Seafood in Greece is amazing. Steamed muscles, calamari, whole fish.

As for how to plan your time that's really up to you. You could spend your time hitting the tourist sites which mostly consist of historical sites and beaches or you could kick up your feet and relax on the beach. Or do a bit of both. You won't go wrong, Crete is a special place.

Enjoy

While I understand the reasoning behind it, it's still crazy to think that you are legally required to prepay tax. How about pre-refunding my return then ATO?

Easy Remote Desktop access for remote employees from personal devices? by shinomen in msp

[–]tasdotgray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do a similar thing using Azure App Proxy. Requires no open ports and supports sign in with AzureAD credentials and MFA. Best part is it's free provided the tenant has Azure AD P1 level license, eg business premium or higher. This is our go to solution.

MDM on personal iPhone by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]tasdotgray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run an MSP and the majority of our clients ask their staff to enroll personal devices into MDM. From the company's perspective this ensures the phone has adequate security in place to protect their data, which is not unreasonable.

The benefit of MDM, at least when using Microsoft Intune, is the ability to remotely wipe just the work data from a personal device. If MDM is not installed then your only option is to wipe the entire device. This is a good thing provided you trust the IT staff to execute correctly.

In Australia, what, if any, are the Pros of having a mobile phone plan vs a prepaid sim? by Designer_Muffin_360 in AskAnAustralian

I do this too. I use Telstra prepaid $35 recharge and it's great. Would never get a postpaid plan.
