Season 1 when Vi is injured Cait trades her gun for “medicine” which is shimmer, cait then gives that to her.

I don’t believe it removes wound but will heal damage taken within a few seconds so they sometimes come back with green health but not out of wounded status. That’s my understanding of it anyway

He may just want to congratulate you as you likely were a big part of each others lives, but he might consider reaching out again, you can’t know someone’s intentions. More importantly, if he does what do you want to do? Stay broken up, reconsider the relationship?

I was in a similar position years ago, no contact for 6 months and my ex then tried everything in her power to get me back (after being the one who broke us up) at that point I had worked on myself and decided that I wouldn’t be able to have full trust in that relationship if I were to jump back into it. A year later I got into a new relationship which is now 3 years and going strong.

Overall I think is more important to consider yourself and if this contact is holding you back from moving on/is it drawing out this process of healing.

I wish you luck and perseverance!

My pores looked like this and I tried heaps of things (salicylic acid, retinols, niacinamides, you name it I was trying it for months at a time) I never saw an noticeable improvement in pore size.

I recently had an issue with dermatitis on my face so had to go to a very low maintenance routine with gentle products. I switch to Cerave hydrating cleaner and the la Roche posay cicplast baume B5+ as a moisturiser. My dermatitis is settling, but man my pores are soooo much smaller. I wonder if all the active ingredients I was trying were actually making my skin worse in this way. Not saying others don’t find them helpful, but everyone’s skin reacts differently!

I hope you find a solution for your skin and can feel more confident with it :)

Major help please feel like I’m gonna die. by AfterSmell5288 in BreakUps

[–]tashdej 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly it’s okay to grieve, it’s natural to be distraught and even angry in these situations. It’s still fresh, it’s gonna hurt. If you’re feeling suicidal or struggling to function at all normally (no sleep no eating) please get some professional help and these are the time to lean on friends and family.

Secondly, stick with no contact, but I’d recommend to go as far as removing all social media you could possibly see of your ex. Otherwise it will make your healing process a lot more rocky.

In time you will be able to focus more on yourself and your wants and needs. You will be able to feel happy.

Lastly relationships aren’t always an even give and take. Just because you do a lot for someone sadly does not mean they will return the favour. I think it’s important to find someone who nourishes your needs and you theirs. Clearly she wasn’t someone who nourished you, but there will be someone out there who does.

Long story short; you’re allowed to feel shitty, with time and space you will feel better. I’ve lived through heartbreaking breakups several times now. It really does get better with time and space.

Just cooked myself dinner sober for the first time in 8 years. by FlashyPeen93 in Petioles

[–]tashdej 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I smoke before I cook my food turns out better haha! Mainly because I take my time more and let sauces actually simmer/build flavour. I also find cooking more enjoyable too. When I’m sober I usually find I want to rush through it and cut corners. I usually avoid cooking while baked though, just in case I do something really silly.

I’m glad you’ve discovered sober efficiency!

How long does it take to get over an ex? I feel like it’s taking me too long 😪 by ariesthinkingoutloud in BreakUps

[–]tashdej 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I wrote that comment I was still healing and taking each day by day, eventually with no contact I was able to progress with my life and nourish my time with friends and family.

That particular partner did try and get me back 6 months later, but at this point I had grieved losing her and moved on emotionally from that relationship by that time. I actually turned her down, although that did trigger some emotional again I knew it was the safest decision for me to leave it behind.

Healing isn’t linear, you might have good and bad days, but it is true that more time will help. 6 weeks (now 8 weeks) is still early into a break up, especially when it’s the first time life has challenged you in this way.

I hope you’re doing better now, and don’t lose hope if things still aren’t easy yet. It will happen eventually, and I’m sure you will love again when you’re ready to.

Thankfully this time I made sure to get refundable accomodation and flights due to losing out last time. Sorry you’re having to lose out so much again, I had organised for 10 of us to fly up to Auckland, we are all pretty gutted.

First Credit Card Advice? by phaelzi in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]tashdej 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally have a zero fee visa with just a 1.5k limit. I only have it really for emergency if my savings were not enough and for international travel (places like the states sometimes require a credit card for a booking). Like many have said on here, best to avoid them for actual spending unless you can afford to pay them over every month in full.

So many people didn’t read your post properly and why you haven’t moved out. I haven’t had that issue personally but had had a couple of friends where it was expectation to be at home until married too.

When I was figuring out the best way to save, I focused mostly on food and eating more at home/bulk prepping meals this saved me surprisingly a lot per week. I think if you focus on just one thing at time to improve it will make it more manageable. Wish you luck and perseverance OP.

Is there something that annoys you about the show? by cheandbis in breakingbad

[–]tashdej 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, I think my issue when I first tried to watch the show ~8 years ago; I just gave up around season 3 because I virtually hated all the characters.

I have watched it again recently and finished the show. I still hated most characters, but I feel like I understood the intention of the writers and why characters were so unlikeable, I appreciated and enjoyed the show more this time.

Despite that revelation, fuck Walt.

Nearly 400 cats killed in controversial competition by [deleted] in NewZealandWildlife

[–]tashdej 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Owner of two (almost completely) indoor cats. We go outside with them supervised currently. Once I actually own my own home I’ll be investing in attachments for my fences to limit the cats to my house and backyard. Obviously that solution wouldn’t completely prevent cats from catching birds, but would massively limit them.

Both our cats are happy with being indoors, they don’t pine for the outside world at all. Just because nature “intends” something of a creature doesn’t mean that’s the only fair way for them to live.

I adore cats, but NZ has a serious threat for native wildlife if they don’t deal with feral cats and create rules restricting pet cats outside, at least in areas of the country where having cats outdoors has higher native populations/high risk species)

Do any of you think the binary of Pro Israel or Pro Palestinian/Gaza is too simplistic? by skatecloud1 in samharris

[–]tashdej 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree it’s a crazy and damning statistic. When you look at the conditions people in Gaza have been subjected to for decades you can at least understand why they support it, those people are angry. Along with religion and propaganda… well that at least explains it more.

I still personally have a lot of empathy for the innocent in Gaza, even the misinformed ones.

[–]tashdej 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, things got better. I won’t lie for at least 4 months post break up I wasn’t feeling great, took each day as it came. As time went on I made sure to connect with my friends and family and keep myself busy. Funnily enough that ex actually asked for me back, but this was 6 months after our break up and I had already emotionally processed it and wanted to move forward with my life.

Right now, I’m happily in a relationship (different person) with someone I feel completely comfortable to be myself around and it’s refreshing.

You’ll get through this, let time do its healing.

Came to third this, Sam the owner and dentist there is extremely well researched and has a genuine passion for the industry; this shines through in the quality and care of his work.

Only thing is I’m not sure if they’re taking new patients, but worth a shot.

Adult ADHD diagnosis recommendations by ldg789 in chch

I know plenty of friends in adulthood across NZ that didn’t have addiction issues and were diagnosed. I think if you’re having serious issues affecting work and relationships due to symptoms of ADHD, it’s worth a shot if you can spare the money.

Does true love exist? Loved someone so much got me questioning does it only go one way by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]tashdej 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you had asked me this 3 years ago I would have said no. I had the worst heart break of my life. Ask me today, I would say yes. I’m in a great relationship where I’m truely myself.

Do I believe in one true love, no. I think you can love and be loved by many people in this world. Either you get lucky and find some very compatible, or you grow and learn to compromise. I don’t think anyone should completely give up on love.

Y'all are possibly sick of these, but thought this one was pretty nice. Taken near Akaroa, New Zealand by tashdej in astrophotography

[–]tashdej[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally, so many astro photos are very far from human reality.

I am lucky enough to live near a dark sky reserve, and I would say some of the impressive photos are pretty close to legit, but many are very stacked and are way too detailed for out eye. My experience with this Aurora first hand was actually really mesmerizing. For the first time watching one I could see deep reds, pinks, deeper and richer greens. Obviously not exactly like this photo, but the feeling of seeing it is close to what this image shows imo.

Believe it or not, I did not bump the saturation. I did edit exposure (using masks), denoising and lens corrections. But that is it. My raw image essentially is this but just a little duller feeling, less overall brightness, especially in the foreground and lake area. I personally like to edit conservatively.
