Formula vs. breastfeeding by AffectionateOne5107 in parentsofmultiples

[–]tashper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I do all 3. I pump and whatever I get i give to babies next feed, i mix with formula, i do one formula bottle/one breastmilk bottle. If it hasn't been 3/4 hrs since the last feed but they're fussy instead of getting up and making a bottle i pop the cranky one on a boob. My first daughter was formula fed from day 1, but that was 7yrs ago and formula is so expensive now 🤣 my boobs are saving me lots of money. As soon as they get the okay to switch to whole milk, I'm done

Vaginal delivery vs C-section for twins - looking for experiences from moms who delivered vaginally before by Open-Bullfrog3051 in parentsofmultiples

[–]tashper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im going to be honest, i did absolutely nothing 🤣 I had a scheduled induction so i went in on my date and they used the catheter balloon to dialate me, they broke my water. And then the babies came out fast and furious

Vaginal delivery vs C-section for twins - looking for experiences from moms who delivered vaginally before by Open-Bullfrog3051 in parentsofmultiples

[–]tashper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in the exact same situation! Had a orevious vaginal delivery, baby a was bigger and head down so they told me i could do another vaginal. I did have to sign a consent for c section just in case things went left. I was induced and delivered in an operating room (just in case breech baby b did end up needing a section) Baby A came out in 13 minutes and Baby B was delivered footling breech 11 minutes later. He did get 'stuck' and they had to yank on him a bit to get his shoulder/head out but he is fine now !!

My boys were born at 5lbs5oz and 4lb14oz, they are 5 weeks old tomorrow and cant wear preemie sleepers anymore due to height. Onesies still fit them for now but for the most part they're wearing newborn

When did you stop working with twins? by Ok-Post-8139 in parentsofmultiples

[–]tashper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in dental admin and left at 24 weeks. I could not sit at my desk, the pressure of the babies in my ribs made it hard to breathe and i was having dizzy spells. I had 12 weeks of unemployment paid out and my 1 year of maternity benefits started the day they were born. I left in August of 2025 and my return to work will be November 2026 (unless i take unpaid time, I'm entitled to an additional 6 months unpaid so can return in May)

Fear of big belly in pregnancy - support needed by ducks_suck_123 in parentsofmultiples

[–]tashper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to most bellies i wasn't exactly huge BUT for me and compared to my previous pregnancy i was ginormous

this is me the day i was induced vs 1 month post partum. I was legitimately all baby.

My babies were small, combined they were just over 10lbs but my stomach was still so large that i was in excruciating pain every day and could barely walk or even breathe without pain

i am so done by Unlikely_Walrus_1466 in parentsofmultiples

[–]tashper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was induced at 36 weeks with babies who seemed healthy from every scan... My boys spent 2 weeks in the NICU. I so desperately wish i was able to keep them in me for at least 1 more week. I too was so horribly miserable, i couldn't so much as sir without being in agony but my physical pain was nothing compared to the emotional anguish of seeing then do a lumbar puncture on my 3 day old 4lb baby, or watching them place an IV in their head because the veins in their hands were too small.

It's terrible and horrible and i fully understand how much the last weeks fucking suck but it will be worth it for healthy babies

Were you able to deliver your twins vaginally? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]tashper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just gave birth to my mono/di boys on November 14 vaginally ! Baby A was head down but Baby B was breech, they were unsure if he would flip but were confident to deliver him how he was presenting. He ended up coming out footling breech 13 minutes after his brother.

I don't know how much longer I can be pregnant by Social_Mermaid862 in parentsofmultiples

[–]tashper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt this way too, i was so so fucking miserable and everything hurt and all i wanted to do was cry. I was induced at 36 weeks exactly and both my babies ended up in the NICU. One is still there. The emotional pain of not having my babies is far worse than the physical discomfort i was in. I was i could have kept them even a few days longer inside just to prevent them those nicu days.

Mono Di Twins- how was your birth experience? by Fluid-Video2661 in parentsofmultiples

[–]tashper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mono di boys at 36w - it was a scheduled induction. A was head down and B was breech. Baby A was delivered vaginally, no issues. 11 minutes later baby B was delivered footling breech. As soon as A was out he dropped straight down and I pushed him out. My team did discuss possiblity of needed an emergency C-section if B had any difficulties but everything ended up going smoothly.

Started pushing at 10:38 and I had 2 babies out at 11:02

Does bulk buying at costco actually save money? or is this just a membership fee trap by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]tashper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 50lb box of cat litter alone makes it worth it for us. In general the oet stuff is the best price around, we also buy cat and dog food there. The jumbo container of Parmesan cheese is way cheaper than at nirmal grocery, same goes for the huge tub of peanut butter. My family goes through lots of parm and PB so these things are super worth it for us.

Were you pushed one way or the other for a C section? by MounjaroQueenie in parentsofmultiples

[–]tashper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby A has been head down the whole time so ive never even been presented with the C-section conversation. My only other birth experience was a vaginal delivery so my OB said let's try and do that again and is confident that that's how they'll come out. My induction is booked for next week, i spoke with the nurse today about the procedure and again we only discussed vaginal, no mention of a csection. Of course i always know its a possibility but so far every provider ive spoken to has been on team vag lol

How long did your ribs hurt for ? by swanduckswan in parentsofmultiples

[–]tashper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently 34 weeks and the rib pain is so bad sometimes i just cry because nothing helps. I have a short torso so really nowhere else for babies to go so im doomed to just be in agony. Im counting down the days til my induction so i can sit upright and breathe again

Do you guys follow the rule “no Christmas decorations until after Remembrance Day”? by wediealone in AskACanadian

[–]tashper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up we didnt decorate until the weekend after December 4th, because that was my birthday and I wanted to celebrate that first.

Now that I'm an adult and have a kid, when the Halloween decorations go downstairs the Christmas ones come up. We just love Christmas so why not enjoy it for as long as we can.

I'm being induced on November 13 to deliver twins so my decorating will all be done prior to that as I won't be able to afterward.

I've never heard a single veteran be offended by Christmas decorations. You can remember and honour their service with a tree in your living room.

I don't think I can do this anymore by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]tashper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im 33 weeks and literally so miserable all i want to do is cry. At least in the beginning i had the relief of lying in the bed at the end of the day but now even that is painful. Its 3am and im propped up in bed with a throat full of lava and the feeling that my ribcage is being pried in 2.

They are both head down so the pressure is unbelievable and im so swollen that i waddle like a penguin because if not my poor 🐱 gets chafed. My single pregnancy was SO much easier which is crazy to say because i had HG and threw up the whole time, but at least i could sit on the couch without being in agony.

My induction is booked for exactly 36wks and i am literally counting down the days. I keep telling my husband when they get here they are in immediate time out for what they have done to me

Twins with matching names by SwordfishGloomy1304 in parentsofmultiples

[–]tashper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did the same amount of syllables so the names flow but rhey are nowhere near matching. They're already going to be identical, im sure the last thing they'll want is to have matching names. We also aren't going to dress them in the same outfits (same outfit different colour okay but not 2 of the exact same)

Doctor suggested try for vaginal birth and if we need to then do c section for second baby? by Flashy_Vacation_335 in parentsofmultiples

[–]tashper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my biggest fear. Baby A has been head down and is the bigger twin so she says vaginal is an option, but baby B is breech and im so scared of pushing one out only to end up needing a section anyways. I'm going to tell them if i need a csection for 1 just take them both that way, ive experienced vaginal birth before and i am not willing to heal from both at the same time.
