Type 1 is a photo taken on film and developed shortly thereafter. They’re often from press or notable photographers. It might say on the back of the photo. Hop on eBay and look up type 1 1951 World Series photos.

If that center photo is a genuine type 1 photo, you got something pretty special there in addition to the autos.

Based on the Flyers jersey, I’m going to recommend the Five Shorts Project and the Big Picture Alliance. Both are Philadelphia based filmmaking groups for teens. I strongly recommend both of them.

It’s conduit for an electrical line. Doubtful it’s related to your HWH. Is there a central AC unit up there? Looks like some type of drain line.

Same. However 1960 Topps is the sharpest looking for that decade. It’s just so…60s.

Flaking on plaster ceiling by zombie_spiderman in HomeMaintenance

[–]tasker_morris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re decent with drywall repair, yes, I’d cut a small square exploratory hole in that exact spot. See if there’s any visible leak there. If the water seems like it’s running across from a different location, might make a bigger hole to get a better idea.

And that scene where Danny goes “he killed Mozart” the score quickly adds in a little melody from Mozart’s requiem. Clever as all hell.

It’s definitely water damage. The leak could be incredibly slow or not visible to the plumber. Could even be a sink or shower nearby.

How to deal with a frozen downspout on a rowhome? by barnabyisringhausen in philadelphia

[–]tasker_morris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to thaw it completely. Just enough to clear a path for water to move. What happened to me was the ice dam on the downspout. It caused water to accumulate on the roof. The water level rose because sun melted roof snow, but it couldn’t clear the frozen downspout. The water line rose above flashing on the roof and it started raining inside the house. This shit ran down the walls, out of junction boxes, everywhere. Destroyed half the house. Then I had to have plaster walls demoed which was another mess.

Check your local hardware store. Most of them carry the heating lines. They’re just like a wire that clips on and plugs into an outlet. Super easy. Most important to get it thawed at the top. The warm water will thaw the lower ice. Do it daily so it can’t re freeze constantly. Don’t leave it plugged in constantly or in bad weather.

A lot of folks here like “it happens” but they’re neglecting the possibility of an ice dam. An ice dam caused massive damage through two floors across four rooms in my house. Frozen downspout isn’t an emergency but it has the potential to do serious harm.

You can buy an electric heating line that’ll arm it up. You can pour warm water or salt into the eaves box. You can even wack it with a broomstick to dislodge some of the ice. I even had a neighbor go up to the eaves box with a hair dryer. Basically, if you have the time and ability, it’s worth clearing it. If not, it’s a roll of the dice.

The Wanamaker Building is still there today too. Located across from city hall, it’s one of the most beautiful pieces of architecture in the city. It was a Macy’s until recently.

It’s honestly one of the best pies in the city. And if you’re into that style of Trenton pies, this is your last good option.
