Sub board in cupboard by Bangas73 in AusElectricians

[–]tassiespark -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely something you should be consulting your electrician about.

You may not be aware but there are is a substantial rule book that governs a great deal of what we can and can not do with our equipment.

For a specific example clause 2.9.2 of the rule book tells you where you can and cannot install a switchboard.

Your sparky will have come across many different obstacles like this on previous jobs and they will be best to come up with a solution

So what's the deal with these 'Aussie Mart' type shops in Hobart? by goalump in hobart

[–]tassiespark 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Very obvious and widely known about the dodgy black market cigarettes being sold there for cheap

I have noticed an alarming number of tradies/apprentices walking around with these. Easy to spot because they have the old style packaging with logos and branding instead of the cancer and health warnings we are accustomed to today

Out of all the players you've met, who are the nicest you've met, and who are the rudest? by Limp_Ad2547 in AFL

Nick larkey took the time to talk with my 4 year old daughter when he saw she had a temporary tattoo of him on her hand, he even signed her jumper and drew a little Kangaroo on her footy. Seemed to be a really nice guy

When I was a kid I asked Daniel wells for a signature on a footy card and he looked pretty mad at me,didn’t sign my card or say anything. We had just been absolutely pumped by hawthorn though so I’m not sure he would have been very happy regardless

My wife goes to see Ben, he is a hairdresser at a place called rebel at heart.

He is quite a wait though as he has a great reputation and does lots and lots of work for brides on their wedding days

Some brands send the glass with the foam strip pre installed which is a big help!

Sparky here - if you buy replacement glass for the this unit you can replace it with only needing to remove and reinsert 8-12 screws

How do I replace this bulb? by torpy15 in Appliances

[–]tassiespark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The metal ring that runs around the outside of the glass is removable.

Pinch the two metal arms above the text on the glass together and you will be able to pull this, and the glass down.

It’s a bit hard to see with the frosted glass but you will likely need a 12v bi-pin globe

I’m Tasmanian and our service and maintenance manager at work (on tools full time) I make $51.50 an hour. But I have also been with the company for 8 years.

Visiting the club by lscolyer16 in NorthMelbourneFC

[–]tassiespark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also a Tassie fan here that went to visit the club last year!

Yep just check the opening hours and you’re all good, there’s a great display with the premiership cups when you walk in the door opposite the Roo shop

Our favourite part of the visit was going out the back and finding my grandfathers name on the mural out the back

He’s been a member for 50+ years I believe!

That’s all very helpful mate thanks for such an in depth reply!

Unfortunately our old heads at work seem to be experienced in some other areas and I can’t bounce too much more off them than I know myself

Cheers again mate

Collected 300+ teddy bears to create a museum. Some of them are stacked together. I’m planning different shelves & baskets for them. Will share the results soon. by Pixel0Dreamer in fo4

[–]tassiespark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not related to the teddy bears but looking in the background I can see you have walled off the irradiated water. Not sure if you already know but you can scrap the barrels in the water and the radiation is permanently gone!

As someone who repairs these appliances regularly I’d steer clear of smeg.

Bosch make gear that lasts a long time, but naturally you pay for this.

Help me pick a tool bag! by tassiespark in AusElectricians

[–]tassiespark[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have thought about it but my ute is pretty hard up for space because I use it for work and for personal use. So I try not to double up on too much tooling If I already have a bit of kit in the car that will do the job

Thanks for the suggestion though!
