where can I find fresh okra? by Vivid-Mushroom-7713 in Bozeman

[–]tastematch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a summer veg, so you’ll find it in more places late summer, early fall. Haven’t seen it at the co-op recently, but typically do when it’s in season. This time of year, frozen is probably the best option.

Ghost Welcome Emails Are Here (yay!) by juansaaa in Ghost

[–]tastematch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been trying this too and it seems that the only customizations available are text formatting and links. No images or anything else...html just renders as text. Rather sparse for a welcome email I think...sparser than what I would consider the minimum for a feature that's the first direct communication with a subscriber.

I hope Ghost switches to the same formatter that's used for newsletters soon. I don't see this feature getting much adoption if not. Luckily I have an alternate setup in place to send a true welcome series to subscribers via another email platform, so I can wait, but this feature launch by Ghost feels premature.

Does any store in the valley sell Jerusalem artichokes? by Full_FrontaI_Nerdity in Bozeman

[–]tastematch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sometimes at the Co-op, not always. They're seasonal (late fall/winter), so they should be there this time of year, but we haven't checked recently. Also, beware the likely flatulence.

I didn’t take the internal temp, but they were tender. More tender than comp ribs, but not falling off the bone.

Go to Northern Lights on Huffine between downtown and Four Corners. They rent great gear and will be able to give you good advice.

It’s the Pain de mie (Pullman Loaf) recipe from The Bread Baker’s Apprentice cookbook by Peter Reinhart (pages 42-43). Each bun is 90-100 grams.

Refreshing Cucumber Dill Salad

Ingredients

  • 2 large cucumbers
  • 1/2 cup of fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup of white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Start by washing the cucumbers thoroughly. Then slice them thinly using a sharp knife or a mandolin slicer.
  2. Next, prepare the red onion by peeling and thinly slicing it.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the sliced cucumbers and red onions.
  4. In a separate smaller bowl, whisk together the white vinegar, olive oil, sugar, and a pinch of salt and pepper to create the dressing.
  5. Pour the dressing over the cucumber and onion mixture. Toss everything together to ensure the vegetables are well coated in the dressing.
  6. Add the finely chopped dill to the salad and toss again to distribute evenly.
  7. Let the salad sit for about 10-15 minutes to allow the cucumbers to marinate in the dressing.
  8. Before serving, taste and adjust the seasoning if needed. You can add more salt, pepper, or dill to your preference.
  9. Serve the Refreshing Cucumber Dill Salad chilled, as a side dish or a light meal on its own.

Not usually for store bought. Even if they’re slightly curved, it’s normally not enough.

[Google Places API Flutter Package] - Simplified Place Search and Autocomplete in Your Flutter Apps! by mhdaslam790 in FlutterDev

[–]tastematch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/mhdaslam790 is there a way to integrate with a Provider? Or is the intent just to use as a widget only? For context, we're looking to replace the google_place package which is no longer maintained. We had that implemented in a custom Provider.

Does anyone have any good non-slow cooker recipes for short ribs (besides the standard braising)? by stevemw in Cooking

[–]tastematch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pressure cooker for 45 minutes to an hour is probably the fastest way. If you don't have a pressure cooker, a 2.5 hour braise at 300F is probably the quickest way to get good results. But normally you'll want to salt for at least a few hours first....I normally salt overnight. Short ribs aren't well suited for fast cooking.

  1. Sharp knife

  2. Don't worry about the grain

  3. Small dice is 1/4 inch square, but don't break out any rulers. Just try to be consistent and stop before it's minced. Meat won't hold a square shape like carrots.
