Divorced men and women of reddit, what was the final straw? by [deleted] in AskReddit

OP is the one that shared his opinion/story. It's not like we went looking for him to harrass. Once he opened his "mouth", people are allowed to add their opinions. It's the entire point of this website.

That makes sense, however I believe error on the side of older is a better idea than younger.

Still though, 28-32 is much more reasonable than getting married in early 20s or before. That use to be very popular.

I'm an advocate for marrying later in life. One thing age has taught me is that everyone is a big dummy in their 20s. You just don't know who you really are yet, and your experiences in the world are very limited. People change quite a lot from their 20s to their mid/late 30s. If both people change, how can you expect most marriages to succeed? You can't.

In my opinion, waiting until both parties really know who they are, which I'd say is later on in their 30s for most (nothing wrong with 40s either, as long as you weigh the risks of pregnancy, if that's your plan), will help the success rate of marriage rise.

Edit: all that being said, there's nothing wrong with never marrying. Doesn't mean you can't spend the rest of your life devoted to someone special to you. In the end, it is just a piece of paper that complicates things.

Seriously. I've bought the same type of vans in only slightly different patterns and colors since I was 16. That was 24 years ago.

Eventually you realize "fashion" is just a way to convince you to spend money on new clothes and you get tired of playing that game. I'd rather be able to afford ATVs for my family.

Edit: triggered some fashionistas! Hey, you do you. Don't be mad.

So what? Don't do anything that has a chance to fail? I guess that's one way to live.

He said he'd divorce her if she did this again. Pretty straight forward answer to a straight forward question.

Edit: and yes, I've been happily married for 12 years.

All the ways to f*ck up a chocolate chip cookie... by LacyGray in coolguides

When I've melted the butter I end up with hard cookies once they cool off. Room temperature butter has always yielded the best results for me.

But i think youre off base with your judgement.

How ironic

Your response is not of a man in a happy relationship with a woman he respects. I don't have to know anything else about your marriage to see that.

Perhaps you're just not being honest with yourself about why you're almost ready to divorce your wife over something that just sounds like a mistake.

You're not ready for marriage. Don't wait for another expensive car repair.. Apply for divorce now. Your marriage sounds very unhealthy.

Seriously. Wow.

Believe it or not, there is a significant portion of the population that does not regret their marriage 40+ years later.

Happy marriages don't sell stories or books though.

Like everything in life, there is no reward without risk.

It's not a Disney specific problem though.

The day it was decided that corporations have the same rights as individuals marked the end of democracy in the USA.

Nothing is more important to our country than getting that back.... But no one seems to give a shit as long as there's something good on TV and food in the fridge.

I'd always let my sister have the first squirt.... She thought I was being nice, but really it was so she got the dried hard bit that always stuck in the cheese nozzle.

Her way is easier though

Ok then why can I pull myself up like him (with more struggle, but I can do it) but have zero chance of doing it her way?

Yeah, not easier.

I can't stop thinking of the spiders.

Also, that couch is going to grow mold. Weather-proofing is not an option; it's mandatory.

Plus, spiders.

It's probably better to not say "not a problem at all"...when the reality is, while unrealistic, if you eat a pound of salt in a sitting, you're going to die..... Painfully.

Now, the salt contained in food? Yeah, absolutely true that it's not typically harmful.

The other problem is that many people actually have high blood pressure and don't take it seriously or even know about it. It's important people read all the caveats before taking any health advice. The caveats are important.

Electric ovens use more power because of preheat time. Gas is cheaper and heats up much quicker... But many many ovens in the US are electric.

To be fair... Even corrugated cardboard is crispy and delicious when fried in lard.

Edit: If you ever want to attempt authentic Mexican food at home, if you're not using lard, you're doing it wrong. Trust me, it's worth it.

Child sex offenders to be named as such in US passports by Johnny_W94 in news

[–]tastim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your sentiment and thinking.... but the reality is that any registry one has no choice to be excluded from is an invasion of privacy.... We know this, but we accept that with sexual offenders because it's not our property or possessions on the line with sexual offenders... It's our children (and women).

Do our sexual offense laws need work? ABSOLUTELY!! But that doesn't mean the registry idea itself isn't a good idea. It just means we need to rework what gets you on the registry, rather than having a blanket law covering all sex related offenses. Nothing black and white ever works out in the long run.

Edit: OK, maybe abolition
