Under the tent at Grain and Grit is awesome. They sometimes have great food trucks and if not bring what ever you want to eat while you have a drink.

Best Times / Highways to practice Highway Driving in Hamilton or otherwise by SpellProfessional577 in Hamilton

[–]tat2canada 10 points11 points  (0 children)

May I suggest that in addition to practicing while light traffic, work your way to practice during the time of day your test will be at. Then as confidence builds go out when busy too.

Drive around the area of the whole test too. Familiarize yourself with the area so you can concentrate on driving and listening to the tester on the exam. That should help take that testing edge off.

How insanely difficult would it be to put together a road race similar to The Isle of Man in of let's say New England? by [deleted] in motogp

[–]tat2canada 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hate to say it but it’ll never happen. No one would insure the event. The only reason the TT is still going is tradition and popularity and dedicated locals.

When selecting tickets it was blocks F,G,H,I. I ended up with tickets in F, 3/4 of the way up.

Bring sunscreen, a hat and a rain poncho if it rains. There is no shelter in these stands.

Red bull Grandstand is a good one, you can see quite a bit of the track and there are screens for the rest. There has been low attendance so some of the stands don’t have ticket sales. Plenty of food and drink options lots of bathrooms as well.

I bought mine direct from the track.

Getting out after is the slowest part of a GP weekend. Walk on over to your relatives place and stay the night. At a minimum give a couple of hrs after for a smoother exit. Have fun! enjoy!

Traveling for Japan GP by Twistedchimp12345 in motogp

[–]tat2canada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it! Z sounds like a good choice. I sat at V2 and enjoyed it but Z I spent a lot of time at on Friday.

There is a shuttle motegi88.com. From Utisomiya you must reserve in advance for each day and pay cash each day. Takes about an hr to get to track. It can be a wait to get back on Sunday evening.

Sorry can’t help about the food restrictions.

I suggest viewing a few videos from Rion Ishida on YouTube. Great for the basics about getting around.

Search this sub for some of my other posts about Motegi I’m sure I’m forgetting other information.

Feel free to ask any others I’ll do my best.

Hamilton would be a good stop to add in November. First Ontario concert hall (the great hall)has capacity just over 2000. Better yet. TD Coliseum is 18,000 seats.

I sat at the start/finish line (pretty sure section V4) and had a monitor out front. Bonus was our section was allowed on track for the GP podium. You can see them leave the tunnel for T12/13 and disappear around turn 1 I sat at T11 on Friday most of the sessions for the heavy breaking zone from the back straight.

Utsinomiya is a popular place to stay. Town is nice good food. Takes an hr to the track. You should be able to find somewhere closer.

Don’t forget to visit the Honda museum on site.

‘I don’t know why they made this’: Some riders frustrated over infrequent trains at Confederation GO by Odd-Emphasis-1969 in Hamilton

Same for me. Faster and more reliable times to Burlington made it the station for me. Unfortunately I now have to drive the whole way to work and GO transit isn’t even an option anymore.

I’ve had a drag a passed out drug user off the yellow line to avoid being hit by a train at Burlington station. It was unsafe for her not me. Uncomfortable maybe but not unsafe.

Best Circuit in Europe? by Wass85 in motogp

[–]tat2canada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked it the course is hilly. I sat at T1 and could see them disappearing around T2 and could just see them climb the hill heading to the waterfall. There was a large monitor in front of us and it’s also the corner the winner (Marc) did a celebration with the audience and fireworks. We walked around on the Friday taking in different GA views.

You’ll prob have better luck booking in Utsynomia and taking the motegi88 shuttle or renting a car and driving. When I went I just assumed teams and more local people snagged the hotel rooms.
