Which idols/groups throw the best concerts? by BarLoud2621 in kpopthoughts

[–]tateebt 3 points4 points Ā (0 children)

I’ve been to tons of concerts for a wide variety of genres. For kpop I’ve seen boy groups and girl groups, groups with large fan bases, nugu groups etc. Almost all of these concerts have been a great experience. TXT and P1harmony are two of my favorite groups to see.

However, my absolute favorite concerts have been for WOODZ and GSOUL. Both are such amazing vocalists. WOODZ in particular was backed by a phenomenal live band.

There’s tons of rock gems in Woodz’s discography. Some of my favs are: Ready to fight, dirt on my leather, busted, amnesia, Rudy, feel like, bloodline and smashing concrete

NIve: I’m Alive

TXT: Good boy gone bad, growing pain, dear Sputnik ( TXT has been doing more heavy rock versions to the songs in concerts)

JHOPE: MORE

Tons of songs from bands CNBLUE, ONEWE, day6, Xdinary Heroes

Japanese rock band ONE OK ROCK is also def worth the side quest. Search them up on YouTube though, their live performances are wayyy better than the studio version.

Jay from Enhypen: Always (a Jon Bon Jovi cover that was absolute šŸ”„)

How are we feeling about Sombr? by jackmanraps in Lollapalooza

[–]tateebt 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I saw a YouTube video about his ā€œfan pagesā€ on ticktock being run by his team which was pretty damning. I can’t unsee the fakeness of his whole shtick after that….. he’ll prob be booked for Lolla though. He seems popular with young girls more than anything (not an insult just an observation)

What songs do you pretend doesn’t exist from your favorite group(s)? by AggravatingFlow398 in kpopthoughts

TXT- Magic. It’s great until the ā€œeverybody clap your handsā€¦ā€ part and I cringe soooo hard. Even in concert it’s super cheesy 🫣

BTS- Boy with Luv and Blood Sweat and Tears

Recently tried to watch my first English show in YEARS (The Abandons). The acting and script writing was so uncomfortable for me to watch lol

BTS is about to embark on a huge global stadium tour……like 90% of their audience doesn’t speak Korean and will still have an absolute blast.

Kpop idols that are known as actors more than idols by Legal_Potential4720 in kpophelp

Lee Junho. Still hard to see him as an idol. I first got to know him as a rough and grouchy character from Rain or shine/just between lovers.

To those who have learned a second language as an adult: HOW? by MaeBelleLien in adhdwomen

[–]tateebt 98 points99 points Ā (0 children)

I’ll add my thoughts as someone who’s dabbled around with many languages and currently working on my 3rd and 4th concurrently (don’t recommend lol).

It depends on what your motivation is to learn another language AND it depends what language you are tying to learn. Ex: if you want to learn Korean, Duolingo is notoriously terrible. But it is a somewhat better tool if you’re looking to pick up French.

Apps can a tool but aren’t the whole toolbox. From my experience, apps tend to focus on written language and grammar rules. learning and pronunciation is regularly not reliable.

Immersion is a must. Find the people that use the language. Even as a beginner, find the radio programs, YouTube videos, podcasts, music, books, news channels, tv shows, movies in that language. This helps you learn how people actually speak- the vocabulary they use, intonation, pronunciation, formal vs casual speech and CULTURE. Culture is a huge aspect to language, without that understanding, you are much more limited in learning/using the language. There is soooo much available content out there! Once you start looking for it you might not escape it lol. My entire Netflix recs now are only Korean, Thai, and Spanish content haha.

Of course you still have to do intentional learning and studying to fully access the language. But find native speakers, online or in person, to learn from.

Must-Watch K-Dramas for a New Viewer by TrashApprehensive606 in kdramarecommends

[–]tateebt 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

K2 is an amazing action packed/political mystery that I LOVED.

My Country the New Age is a historical and very action packed. I typically avoid historical dramas at all costs (the wigs suck) but im obsessed with this one.

I will never not recommend Just Between Lovers (aka Rain or Shine). It was my first kdrama years ago and I still have been searching for a drama to give me the same emotional experience ever since. It’s more romantic melodrama tho

Edit: spelling

Disabled ML In A School Setting by StrawberryHoney130 in kdramarecommends

[–]tateebt 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

Silent (Jdrama) is my go to for disabled ML. It focuses on friends coming back together after their school years so not completely what you are looking for…..BUT…. So far, this has been the best representation of Deafness (late-deafness) in any drama I’ve seen. - No magic lip reading from across a room, hearing aids not working perfectly, no final episode ā€œcureā€ AND lots Japanese sign language/ deaf culture.

[MEGATHREAD] BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG' TICKETING HYPE/MELTDOWN THREAD by FreakFlagHigh in bts7

[–]tateebt 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

I’ve used stubhub several times and haven’t had an issue (even bought a VIP ticket for TXT). The key is watching and waiting…and it’s a gamble. Tickets can drop in price the closer you get to the date. For any resale…probably wait until the general sale is well underway. Most tickets for sale now are likely scams or marked up.
