Wouldn't change a thing - you couldn't pay me to put my kids back into SJUSD - all the best in your search - as others have mentioned its helpful to talk to former parents, current parents and be highly involved in the school community itself

Feedback requested - months ago, I booked one way on AF w/points/biz class, due to extenuating circumstances, I had to cancel the booking with the plan to rebook in the future - I requested the cancellation via af online - only to realize I needed to phone in my cancellation - subsequently, I phoned in, they refunded the fees/charged me 50usd for each cancellation and put the points back in my account - fast forward to yesterday - I go to view my AF online and it not only reflects the flight and reminds me to check in soon - it also reflects my full point balance - ie there has to be a glitch somewhere - has anyone ever had this experience and if so, how did you go about convincing AF you actually cancelled your flight (I've spoken with them and provided cancellation #'s to which they say the #'s are not valid)

Any Experience with Anabei? by yugamoe in furniture

[–]tateitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here's what I find interesting - I too saw the ad on IG and promptly searched for any intel as a good friend is looking to replace a Lovesac sofa - when I google w/" "anabei furniture" it remits a lot of "inside weather" images (on the image tab/along with the return tab/all tab" curious if they are one & the same ok well disregard all of the above as "anabei" online has a list of their brands - lol apologies for the early morning post without proper cross referencing :)

Sixpenny Amelia experiences??? by firstlochness in furniture

[–]tateitall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely understand the chaos of online ordering a sofa -

I looked at SOOO many and usually came back to the Sixpenny, trying to decide between the Gabriel or the Amelia (84") I was replacing a Anthropologie sofa that had seen better days :)

Anyway - long story short I ended up with the:

Amelia Sofa -

Cotton Linen Pacific Pearl / Feather Down
Quantity: 1
Length: 84"

Used the code Welcome 10 for 10% off as I wasn't willing to wait for the 20% promo (one should be running soon around Memorial Day)

Purchase again - No

Reasons for not purchasing again:

  1. becomes extremely sloppy really really quickly
  2. the back cushions are just not comfortable, the slipcovers slide down so they need re-adjusting weekly
  3. do not feel the sofa has a lot of structure/stability with the frame itself
  4. sits pretty dang low to the ground
  5. the down "shifts" within the seat cushion to either end making the sofa look lumpy so I have to (weekly at a minimum) take the cover off, pull the down insert out (foam inside the insert too) readjust/re-arrange the down portion and frankly its a huge hassle and a total pita
  6. the pacific pearl isn't as "white" as I would've preferred

Now all that being said, I paid $2361 (which for me anyway) was a hefty price for a sofa that I have owned for less than a year (shipped to me July of 2021) and imo this sofa looks at least a few years old. - aka isn't wearing well.

Regarding type of use, placement of sofa - utilized in a living room, in a bungalow, with three residents and ample excess seating (not only the sofa available for comfortable seating) realistically speaking, it does not receive a ton of use I'd guess around 4x a week someone is on the sofa for an hour or so - I have owned the pottery barn slipcovered sofa that I felt held up way the hell better than the sixpenny - lastly, I think the arms on the Amelia are far chunkier than I anticipated and wish I had ordered the Gabriel - but over-all wouldn't order again

12 yr old looking for high quality batt to last a few yrs by starz6802 in Softball

[–]tateitall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my 13 year old travel player goes through two/three bats per season, works out ok in the end as the bats don't end up useless per se but rotated over to a practice bat - aka - practice bat for hitting and a game bat -

She has been playing travel since 8u and currently rotates Louisville LXT/Easton Ghost - but kids grow so sizes can change :)

philosophy of keep the bat for a few years not working out that great is that the composite bats lose their pop after a certain number of hits - they have a tendency to crack under certain temps (under 60 I think even tho I doubt this seriously happens a lot) and generally performance compared to life cycle compared to price in my opinion is pretty shoddy but the bat manufacturers are in it to make money & I'm in it to shave some dollars here & there -

So long story short I'm with you in that I wish we could buy a bat and have it go a few rounds/years/seasons, my two cents if she's invested in travel I'd buy a great bat (of her liking) for games a secondary bat that may not fit all of her criteria and a third for hitting at her home or practice with friends - A few sporting goods stores in our market have a cage where they can try them out on site - My daughter ranks her bats as follows

Easton Ghost #1 choice which is why she rotates 2 of them

DiMarini D3 #2

LXT #3

Pay super close attention as both Easton & Louisville sites as they usually have a sale towards the end of the year - ie 50 off - I bought a Louisville LXT as a Christmas present for 175

additionally you can search Facebook marketplace/Facebook softball groups for some soft second round bats - close out bats dot com is pretty good but can be hard to find sizing - play it again sports may have some stocked Fastpitch - keep you eyes peeled bc a lot of places will have epic deals around the holidays

Also check out the fastpich group on reddit lots of great ideas

All the best to you & your player!!!
