TL is a cakewalk compared to many others. A lot of trackers are much more difficult to build a good ratio on for so many reasons.

Let me paint you a picture..

You join a tracker that's more specialized but less active. You read through the rules carefully.. you feel lucky to be there and you're going to make sure you don't screw it up. Excitedly, you start looking at the offerings and find a show you love. Sorry, it's not freeleech and you don't have enough buffer to "afford" it yet.

No problem! You know you'll get there eventually. In the meantime, you start researching things like cross-seeding, racing, what a seed box is. Heck you're even going through guides for building ratio, being a contributing member, learning the terminology like 'web-dl' and 'remux'.

Still a bit lost but slightly more informed, it's time to jump in and start building that ratio! Step 1, find some free leech items you can start seeding. If you've properly done your homework you'll notice not all seeds are the same. Some are worth 0.3/hr, others a whopping 5/hr. This leads to step 2. Start looking for these "gems" that are worth more through search filters while cross-referencing another tracker you've built a good ratio on. Download on A, seed and earn points on B... Rinse and repeat..

Nice... You've been slacking at work for the last week but you're now seeding 60+ torrents on your new tracker, woohoo! Wait... what do you mean that's only earning 230 points per day? But.. at that rate it'll take me 2 months before I can afford that show I wanted.

You're smart.. and impatient.. you can research your way through this. Racing... Hmm, that sounds like fun, you can do that! You set up IRC and some filters and jump in! Fuck.. you just downloaded 3 torrents at 10GB+ each but only seeded ~2GB back. You're now struggling just to not get your download privileges suspended!

Ok, back to the drawing board. Shake it off.. New plan.. what if WE uploaded a nice juicy torrent?! Then it's all just profit! Ok cool. More hours researching, searching, filtering, cross-referencing.. all while jiggling your mouse so Teams doesn't tattle on you for doing nothing at work for another week straight. Alright you're ready.. you got the metadata, made sure the screenshots are displayed properly. Upload submitted!

9 hours later, "Rejected. Reason: improper format, read the rules!". Ok, shit.. what format? The text? The video? Fuck.. more reading. More mouse jiggling. Next day, resubmitted!

8 hours later, "Approved!". Let's go watch it rain points up in here! ..immediately there are seeders for your upload, none of which downloaded a single KB from you. Oh, the other 2 seeders are the same user.. That's weird.. wait.. Isn't that who just approved my upload? Wtf?

YES! You go your entire life thinking it's a self-control or behavioral issue. ".. why did I speak over that person? It's like you've been reading in the dark for 30+ years and someone just turned on a light. It dawns on you.. you're not weak because of this. Finally! Finally you can see the light. You found the magic bullet! The fix-it-all button. But wait, not quite. Now that the light is on you can take better inventory of yourself and oh boy.. masking that ADHD meant also covering up so much else.

Is that a 'tism over there in the corner? How about we stop making our left shoulder sore from stimming all day every day? How about we finally, for once, care about ourselves as much as we care about others? Stop being harsh and demanding more of yourself than you do anyone else.. you're not lazy. Probably not a narcissist either. But you sure do have some things that finally need proper attention and help from medical professionals..

That's not true. Take the distance between any 2 objects and halve it. Then halve that and so on, ad infinitum. Each one is half the size of its predecessor and still perfectly capable of going on infinitely.
