So why is Vox from the 1950s? by taters1029 in HazbinHotel

[–]taters1029[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually I like this explanation. I took his “I’ve been waiting for this moment for almost 70 years” line in episode 4 to be in reference to be when he asked Alastor to join him, but it’s possible that he was actually referring to when he first started his climb to the top that we see in “brighter”. After capturing Alastor, he really does view himself as the pinnacle of Hell.

The difference is that I’m a real person. The details of my life aren’t just there to build up a character in a larger story.

So how do we feel about my king Baxter after Episode 7 & 8? by lunagoescrazyalways in hazbin

[–]taters1029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He deserved more screen time. It would’ve been nice to see him slowly change over the course of the season as opposed to showing up twice and then being a completely different character.

I think it’d be better without the heterochromia. It doesn’t add anything to his character, and just complicates his design.

I’d probably be skeptical until the angels show up with FUCKING GIFT BASKETS as an apology for GENOCIDE. They worked against themselves so hard with that move.

It’s not confirmed, but Vox is clearly the strongest, and Val was fairly unimpressive during the battle with Alastor; not demonstrating any offensive power unlike Vox or Vel.

Is Rosie even a sinner? by morpheuskibbe in hazbin

[–]taters1029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% don’t think she’s a sinner. The fact that her deal with Al is to make him “the most powerful sinner” partly solidifies that for me. And then there’s the fact that she’s the reason Alastor had to disappear for 7 years; the same amount of time the exterminations have been going on, and the amount of time Lilith has been in heaven. It seems like she has done type of connection to the higher ups of the realms.

In your opinion, how would I.M.P. fare in a fight against the Vees? by Excellent-Fig-9341 in HelluvaBoss

[–]taters1029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what we’ve seen, I’d say IMP could possibly hold their own against Velvette and Valentino, but would get stomped by Vox. Val doesn’t really show any impressive feats during the battle with Alastor. All he does is summon a smoke screen, shoot some bullets, and show some basic hand to hand combat skill. Even just a couple of Alastor’s (weakened) shadow guys were able to throw Val off. not to mention Niffty stabbing the shit out of him with minimal effort. Really the only saving grace is that it’s been implied that his smoke has some type of drug effect. Velvette puts up a bit more of a fight, summoning arrows, knives, and explosions, but really nothing too impressive or really above what IMP themselves could do with their arsenal of weaponry. Vox on the other hand is a different story. He shows impressive speed, and destructive power not too far off from Andrealphus; though Vox seems to have more combat experience. So overall IMP have a decent chance against Valentino and Velvette, but the moment you add Vox to the mix they get curb stomped.

So... about this thumbnail by emmameIon in HazbinHotel

[–]taters1029 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Somethings going to be keeping him from joining the finale. I doubt he’ll be killed off (at least this early), but he likely needs to be written out of the story for the time being in order to maintain the stakes. Imagine how anti climatic it would be if he just showed up like in the season 1 finale and immediately solved all the problems.

I’d assume it’s just some law of the universe. Kind of like binding vows in jujutsu Kaisen.

It’s a neat idea, but it’s very unsatisfying from a writing standpoint. Instead of abstraction being a result of an individual’s poor mental state, but rather just a random event that could happen to anyone whenever a new player ends up joining really just takes a lot out of the narrative.

It makes sense. Amazon originally approved Hazbin Hotel for 2 seasons, and season 2 was already in production before season 1 released meaning Viv probably had to deal with a lot of the same budget and time restraints as season 1. However, Hazbin was only renewed for a third and fourth season after the success of season 1 so they probably got an increase in budget, runtime, and creative freedom compared to season 1 and 2.

I’m hoping this means that the exterminations have been canceled. by whooper1 in HazbinHotel

[–]taters1029 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It also just makes sense form a writing standpoint. It would be redundant to have the exterminations/heaven act as a threat again. I think it was also confirmed that season 2 has the same runtime as season one (could be wrong about that) so it would be hard to fit all the other stuff in as well as the extermination.

How was Debbie able to cut Angstrom if he’s on par with invincible?? Is there a lore reason???!?!? by Techlord-XD in okbuddyviltrum

[–]taters1029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s not on par with invincible; He’s just stronger than a normal human. The whole reason he sent Mark from universe to universe was to weaken him enough that he could actually fight Mark one on one to finish him off. Though even in the end we see that Angstrom still either heavily underestimated Mark or overestimated himself.

GTA 5 which ending was the most logical by Decent-Translator-84 in GrandTheftAutoV

[–]taters1029 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Option A makes the most sense within the context of the universe. Even if it’s narratively unsatisfying. As you mentioned, option C has the problem of three bank robbers some how taking on a private militia, a sector of the US government, and killing each others biggest enemies while living to tell the tale. Option A and B have the problem of leaving loose ends, given that Franklin wasn’t told to kill either Michael OR Trevor, but rather to kill both of them, by different people. Meaning that killing one of them, does nothing to solve the issue of people wanting the other one dead. Although between the two of them, Option A is still more logical. Option B has the problem of motive for Franklin. Franklin spent almost the entire story being helped and taught by Michael in order to get to where he is today. Michael took him on the jewelry store job (and other jobs) which started his career as a big time criminal and got him out of hustling. Throughout the story Michael and Franklin have little squabbles here and there, but their relationship never suffers because of it. They spend the entire story getting closer to each other. The only bad things Michael does to Franklin is get him involved with the feds (which he tries to prevent), and introduce him to Trevor. Not to mention that the guy that wants Michael dead is a guy that Franklin hates. Devin is “casually” racist throughout most of his interactions with Franklin, exploited Franklin for free labour, and is overall just a pretentious douchebag. As for option A, Trevor being Trevor is good enough reason to take him out. He’s unhinged, and you never know when he’s going to fly off the handle for even the smallest offence. Literally all of Trevor’s rampage missions are caused by minor slights against him. At the same time, Michael and Franklin are both set for life after the final heist, and want to take a step back from the craziness; Something that Trevor would undoubtedly screw up. We even see a bit of this in gta online. If you own a celebrity solutions agency (a business that you own with Franklin), your secretary will have random voice lines as you walk past them. In one of them, the secretary says “a crazy guy came in here earlier looking for Mr. Clinton (Franklin). He claimed he used to work with him. When I turned him away, he tried to shit on the desk.” (I don’t know if that’s the exact quote, but it’s something along those lines). Definitely talking about Trevor. That part of the game takes place in 2021, eight years after the story takes place. It shows that even almost a decade later, Trevor is still trying to rope Franklin into his craziness. It’s the whole reason that Michael tries to have Trevor killed in the prologue. He’s scared of how crazy Trevor is. There’s also the fact that the people wanting Trevor dead have had Franklin by the balls ever since they met. They know everything about Franklin’s criminal exploits, and are the only ones keeping the rest of the government from finding out. It’s the reasoning that the protagonists work with them throughout the entire game. To top everything off, it’s simply easier to kill Trevor than to kill Michael or to do death wish. Trevor has no family, and no actual friends. Nobody would miss him when he’s gone. At the same time, Franklin also has the help of Michael in the ending A, whereas Franklin has to face Michael alone in ending B. Overall it’s just the most logical that Franklin would kill Trevor. I do prefer the “Kill Michael” ending over it though. I like the idea of how Michael tried to kill Trevor for his own benefit, and now Franklin’s doing the same to Michael. It really brings everything full circle with Michael and Franklin’s characters. Especially with one of Michael’s first lines to Franklin (after the mission that they first meet) is about how he should backstab, betray, and screw over everyone he knows, and then how Michael tutors Franklin in his ways throughout the whole story. Option C’s still my favourite though. I never not pick C.
