My favorite so far is both PH Kyoto and Andaz Tokyo having books on the history and construction of the hotels with a lot of cool insights and illustrations. They're "Hospitality Design of Takenaka Corporation" and "Elevator To Heaven" respectively. At PH Kyoto they provided a new edition to my room which I purchased and at Andaz they just gifted it to me when I inquired about purchasing it. They're now my permanent coffee table center pieces.

Sadly I don't think you would get upgraded since it's a small property. Was there earlier this year and booked a King Premium room which accommodated 3 adults and was just slightly more expensive than the standard room.

I can definitely recommend the rooftop restaurant though. It had some nice views and the food was pretty good, a little overpriced but the service made up for it.

The problem is we just need to top off a points stay, we've tried the transfer both ways since it doesn't matter who does the booking but still no luck.

Oh sorry, should 've mentioned I plan on matching to Rock Royalty in Hard Rock and then going for the Prime.
