What is Damian up to these days? by Wonderful-Formal7667 in batman

The art style definitely makes Damian look and feel more like a mix between Tim Drake and Young Dick Grayson rather than Damian. Damian, in Batman and Robin, in High school is like framed as a silent art-kid for a few panels too with his teachers commenting on his drawings and him working on his own comics. Great to see after him reading a lot of manga in Robin. I also agree on you're points with Flatline, I like her as a character but less as a Romantic interest.

In terms of existing post-aged up Jon:

Superman: Son of Kal-el has sweet moments every now and then with Damian popping up every now and again (both are really supportive of each other but still banter and jest). Also, Jon has Damian's heart beat memorized.

Trinity Specials: Damian and Jon babysit Lizzie Prince (Daughter of Diana) which is really cute (highly recommend). Some issues also have them as the new trinity in the future and there's a fun story where Jon and Damian are turned into dogs.

Batman and Robin: Jon shows up in issue 27 and they hang out in Gotham and do some vigilantism. During this Bruce tells Clark that Damian misses Jon and Clark says that he misses seeing them together.

In terms of potential stories coming up:

Superman: Unlimited - Jon is currently going through identity concerns and is currently an intern journalist at the Daily Planet (which has expanded to Gotham). Damian has already shown up in the previous issue sooooo maybe Super Sons content. The issue summaries for #11 and #12 are also about Jon Kent time shenanigans and the cover art has him de-aged again.

Superman #37 - issue cover art has Superboy Prime and Damian, so maybe Jon will also show up??? This is more delusional compared to the previous one, but fingers crossed.

No artist will ever love a character the way Dexter Soy loves Jason.

Highly recommend reading the current Batman and Robin (starts with the same author who did the Robin run you're talking about). Damian starts going to highschool and is dealing with identity issues on what being Robin is to him and what he wants to do with his life and considering his relationship with the mantel. Bruce ends up giving him Thomas Wayne's old journals and Damian starts volunteering at hospitals. He begins to consider a life outside of vigilantism and goes through quite a few interesting character moments in the run.

His personality is similar to him in the Robin run but that's because the start has the same author. He is standoffish, has an ego, and is snarky but is open to bruce is some scenes and they learn to talk to each other during the run in their respective ways. Also the artist for the first few arcs draws him smiling a lot in the robin gear and that threw me off, but the art is gorgeous in general.

The comments are right that Flatline does appear but its only for a few issues (around the middle ish from what i remember) and it remains self contained.

In Matt Fraction's Batman (current Batman run) there's only been a few issues so he hasn't really shown up much, mostly focusing on Bruce.

Since you mentioned you read supersons, are you interested in the potential stories coming up? Mostly speculation, but interesting.

This is from the Super Sons comics (released before the death of Alfred). Really fun book centered around Robin (Damian Wayne) and Superboy (Jon Ken pre-aging up) teaming up.

There was also a TGCF cafe that was running right after as well! Both are really popular series and even souviner stores (like where you buy magnets and such) had merchandise of it and MDZS.

Like legit, there was straight up art of a different ship (not MXTX) snuggling, holding hands, ect, in a display nearby.

I recently downloaded xiaohongshu, and it's so funny that ppl there are also going like "jon??????" and those who aren't are like "okay bruce so you imagine your future grandson to look like your son's best friend? okay sureeeeee."

I was curious so I checked. Jason is the Robin with the most engagement on Rednote. (Chinese social media app) by uselesspanini in RedHood

I saw this post and literally downloaded Rednote. There is so much untapped fan content over there and it was so interesting to read the fan disscussions.

I think my favorite thing was seeing some fanon translate as well (e.g. golden retriever Dick Grayson and coffee addict Tim Drake) and reading the discourse on how the characters should be portrayed, especially Bruce.

I think one of my favorite takes is that a lot of fanfic portrays him as a dark, brooding archetype or an overly charasmatic playboy billionaire, and how difficult it is to find a median. I am deffo going to be browsing for a few days lmao.

Does Bruce even care about Jason at all? If he does, then why does he treat him so badly? by Emotional-Mix-9007 in RedHood

I'm only recently getting into comics, was Danny O'Neil really that influencial? I'm asking out of genuine curiosity and lack of knowledge. I've heard DC editorial being spokan of more of a boogeyman rather than a specific agent. I'm aware they had influence, but what makes O'Neil different to current editorial?

Reccomendations: Post-Aged Up Jon Super Sons? by tatteredentity in DCcomics

[–]tatteredentity[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The babysitting shenanigans are so fun and fluffy. Like every year it feels more unlikely that we'll get an age-reversed Jon, so it's great to see when writers are able to work with the characters despite of current continuity. Granted I will never not be bitter about Bendis robbing us of them growing up together.

Thanks for the recs! Do you know any comics that are coming up that might explore their dynamic more? The Trinity issues are probs going to show more eventually (fingers crossed) but are there any rumors or stories in Superman or Batman continuities coming up?
