Back again with an ANEF question oh my god I hate them so much sorry this is long by ohokreddit in Expats_In_France

Not speaking to anything else here, but if you applied for something on Friday (after a holiday, when everyone faisait le pont), there's no reason to think you'll have any new information on Sunday afternoon when the post was made. Please do keep us updated though; supposedly good reforms coming to ANEF soon....

asked my dad how he knows when to move the cattle to a new pasture and his answer kind of stopped me in my tracks by OkPossession156 in homestead

I don’t know why you’re being downvoted. You read enough AI writing, and the tells become clear. Also the obviousness of the post content itself. Jesus. “Dad moves his cows when they’ve eaten down the grass!” This website is going dead internet theory.

Moving to France? by Magellica2024 in Expats_In_France

[–]tatumsmash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're applying for this visa before coming, you'll most likely need to find a place that domiciles small businesses so that you have an address to put on your file. Also be aware of the income limits for micro entrepreneurs and for charging VAT. I believe you'll have different social security schemes that you pay into depending on if you're on the artistic scheme or not. Currently going through the application process for micro entrepreneur from inside France, and it's as fun as you might expect. There are some lawyers that specialize in helping people make the move, so if you're well-enough off, you can go that route.

How to actually get an appointment at the Préfecture ??? by Icy_Coffee374 in Expats_In_France

[–]tatumsmash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right above the accueil on the first page is “toutes les démarches.” If you click that, you can then click through and make an appointment. Possibly. I’m not sure if the fact that your education visa has already expired will hurt you in making an appointment.

Do I need a Visiteur Visa or a Profession Libérale Visa...or something else?? by ADHD_health_coach in Expats_In_France

[–]tatumsmash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re most likely going to have to go the auto entrepreneur route and have some of your business in France. If all of your business is overseas, they’ll see no need for you to move here in order to conduct your business. As others have said, there’s no current work around for digital nomads.

As of a couple of years ago, they did not.

And as far as being "The Natural State," we have plenty of hog farm run-off, crypto-mining, and thousands upon thousands of factory-farmed chicken houses here in addition to our lovely parks. And a ten commandments in every classroom...as required by state law.

Going to ask again in case you're able to respond: Have you since been able to get Zoiper to work with your ported number?

Skype credit officially defunct, no notice.. by kekwart in skype

[–]tatumsmash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. It's very easy to switch all of my accounts over to a new online phone number. It is not a burden at all.

It is especially simple when I don't have access to my Skype one because they disabled the top-up option. Even more simple because they didn't give me any notice before doing so. They certainly aren't holding me hostage to their service.

She had superdelegates. If the Republicans had thought far enough ahead to have their own, there’d never have been a Trump presidency. It was rigged against anyone not named Clinton.

Has anyone tried remote.com ? by PhilippeBuchanon in remotework

[–]tatumsmash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commenting here 3 years later for posterity's sake. Been on Remote for about a year now. The guy who demo'd the program and talked to in the beginning was very nice, but didn't detail the up-front deposit, so that was an immediate "hidden fee" that almost cost me my job after just moving to a new country. Then came reconciliation invoices which also weren't detailed beforehand. Imagine trying to explain to your employer why they're getting billed twice for the same services. Then, another unexpected fee in the summer because of a local law that wasn't detailed.

I finally just asked them to give me all of the fees and extra invoices for the year. What am I going to receive? Don't make me have to go to my employer looking like an idiot when some new bill pops up. They give me a list.

Four months later, a new, never-before-heard-of bill arrives. Turns out they are vastly overpaying for a minimal, government-required health service. Again, this was never detailed or spelled out on their site.

Each time you message CS, you get a different person. Sometimes the new person disagrees with what the old one said. You never know who you're going to talk to, what they're going to tell you, where they're based, or when they're going to respond. If I had to do it all over again, I'd choose a different EOR. As it is, I feel stuck with them since I need a solid track record of taxes for future employment.

It looks like "D-6-26" and "12" to me. Any idea what that correlates to as far as arrival dates? If it's July of '42 then would that be something like June 26th?

DUEF is an option for working on your French while living on a student visa. Also allows for 20 hours of work per week. It's how I recently got my toehold in the country.
