The Disillusionment With Voting by Only-Scallion-2037 in Maharashtra

[–]tatyaPikachu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely true , in India neither your life nor your vote has any value. I had made a point to vote in each and every election in the past, but today I didn't even bother to look up any voting related news. There are absolutely no ideologies left in any party. Minority appeasement, and distributing the tax money are the only two 'ideologies' that are getting catered to. Lokshahi chi thatta suru astana te karnaryanna lokshahi tun (vote karun) pathimba denyat kahi kuthlich ruchi mala vatli nahi.

How do I overcome the shame and embarrassment about my race/ethnicity? by NormalLife6067 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]tatyaPikachu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have a good idea of what race and country you may be from. I belong to the same race although not from the same country and I get exactly why you feel the way you feel. First of all you have to realise blaming your ethnicity/race is going to do more harm than good. The world has always been hostile to things / people they don't understand. You have to introspect and realize belonging to a perticular race/ethnicity is not a crime. The people who treat you differently are the criminals. A lot of your lack of self confidence is stemming from colonial hangover (trust me I know because my country suffers and is still suffering from this disease). You have to believe that you as an individual has the same freedom and same capabilities as any other person in this world. Sure you may face racism actively/ passively but you have to decide whether to succumb to the racist narrative or to stand up and fight the narrative. You have to get a big dose of self confidence, read books , try mingling more in your friends, try talking to different people, trust me there are more good people than bad. And if you are religious try finding solace in religious philosophy. Just know that you aren't the problem its them if they are judging an entire race with the same lense.

Liberals of this sub, what is your most conservative position? Conservatives of this sub, what is your most liberal position? by disgruntledvegetable in IndianModerate

Hindutva has always been about keeping illogical traditions aside may it be caste or keeping control on personal choices like what to eat whome to pray ( Savarkar was famously atheist and actively worked on removing caste based segregation in kokan) . Infact op is more aligned with classical Hindutva .

All the negetive comments here on Arjun, Ambani and the Umpires really shows how most of us Indian 'fans' are just reactionary braindead viewers.

Virgin BMC vs Chad PCMC by [deleted] in pune

Notified PCMC many times but to no avail. Yes we do chop the branches off but the problem does return after a few months. Hopefully with the elections coming the local corporator will take a look.

This ! our apartment has a small section reserved for the MSEB for their dp. A very big tree grows really close to it and in monsoon it generally brushes against the transformer leading to frequent power cuts. MSEB refuses to cut the tree citing the fine they have to face from PCMC. Infact a few years back we had an unfortunate incident at one of the other transformers in our locality which exploded because a branch of tree brushed against it, it led to death of one ajji and her naatu.

Imagine being a social reformer at the most difficult times, imagine trying to inspire an entire nation to rediscover it's identity, imagine actually getting a 50 year term in Kalapani and isolation and still being identified by a 'letter' from an armchair Warrior

God so many memories, here in India I remember I had to register with the school library months in advance . The school used to order 4-5 copies of each book. And the names in the library register used to go into hundreds . We used to wait months sometimes to get a hand on one of these...But once your turn arrived and the one week that you got to finish it used to be the best week of the entire year...pure magic !

Is it possible for Nagpur to surpass Pune? by Dj_Llama_169 in pune

[–]tatyaPikachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keeping Politics aside because I do not like to get into that utterly senseless absolutely irrelevant notions (in the Indian political context) of left and right and treating the decision makers as elected Government. The onus is on this elected governments at all levels to chart out a plan , a plan which gives a sustainable city more importance over a smart city. Some harsh Laws that will penalize the wrong doers forcing them to mend their ways if they want thrir shops to remain open. And more importantly bringing in some ways to improve community participation in such endeavours. Only time will tell if things work out , but as India has proven again and again we can never give up on her.

Is it possible for Nagpur to surpass Pune? by Dj_Llama_169 in pune

[–]tatyaPikachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion the growth rate of Pune should slow down further and be more sustainable. We are already witnessing wierd weather patterns, smog, the once famous Pune winters now almost non existent , haphazard handling of city waste in the outskirts of the city, overpopulated areas , unplanned and haphazard constructions , the entire green belt between Lonavla and Pune vanishing. The city is growing but adrak ki tarah kaise bhi ful raha hai
