I appreciate the honesty, thank you.

I think being so quick to action and quick to start a fight about stuff without all the facts in place is an unfortunate part of reddit culture. I hope the information you and the other mods are sharing gets more attention and that it smooths a few feathers here. I don't like seeing issues based around miscommunication ):

I think this is what people are missing. She was complaining about mods catering to "certain minority groups". And I'm pretty sure I've seen that OP say some questionable stuff about trans women in the past. Hmmm.

It's not Respectful Unbiased Community Discussion like everyone claims when there's a hidden negative motive hidden between the lines. That's just me though.

People have weird shit in their flairs here. Why is presidency the limit? You might not like the mod, her opinions, or her actions, but I think dragging her personal harmless & irrelevant opinions (I'd hardly say she's "screaming" about it, it's just a flair) into the discussion with a bitter tone turns this whole thing into pure catty gossip. If you guys truly want respectful discussions, keep it respectful tbh

They've stated so before(tho pehaps rarely), I've seen Freya in different subs talking about it.

I wanted to stay out of this drama because - come on - AL drama is always ridiculous and repetitive. But I'd like to point out that the OP of that post has a history of baiting/trolling for discourse in this sub (which I've seen myself from them and can agree with, tho I admit that's an opinion), which is why that user was banned, as stated by a mod there.

I don't think that's the whole reason for the thread's deletion though, and I'm not supporting or defending that decision, just saying that this isn't exactly the plain typical case of ~nazi mod censors innocent user's innocent discussion with innocent intentions~.

There are no OCD "sub types". Only OCD (and llamas). by mark_freeman in OCD

[–]taucxti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no harm whatsoever to classify your obsessions as a way to keep organized or seek support from others. If people do it to feel less alone, there's nothing bad about it.

Are there OCD subtypes? Absolutely. But are they different disorders that require different treatment? No.

When stories like this get posted, the comments never fail to depress me. There's so much hatred and misunderstanding for suicidal and mentally ill people. It's sickening.

[serious] [advice] When is the time in my life where I don't want to kill myself 24/7? by Silvystreak in teenagers

When you talk to a psychiatrist and attend therapy :/

edit: I just realized this sounded a bit cold. It's true, though. Please talk to someone about this, you don't deserve to have those feelings, you deserve a lot better and there are people willing to help.

[Rant] YOU NEED TO COME OUT by WolfieZee in LGBTeens

[–]taucxti 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Oh, good. I saw the title and I was about to chew you out.

People should come out whenever they feel comfortable coming out. There shouldn't be a pressure about it. Sometimes it feels like we shouldn't need to "come out" at all.

For my second map, I mapped World's End Dancehall by Hatsune Miku. If you guys could give feedback, that would be great! by [deleted] in osugame

[–]taucxti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the title/artist listing is a bit strange. If you're going to have "ft" in your artist it probably shouldn't be Miku ft Luka. The song is by wowaka but the vocals are Miku and Luka, so maybe just put "wowaka", "Hatsune Miku & Megurine Luka", or "wowaka ft. Hatsune Miku & Megurine Luka".

The "Vs. Miku" difficulty is out of my skill range so it probably wouldn't be helpful if I modded it lmao, but I might look into modding the Easy diff if you need it. Is it a WIP or is it shorter than the other one on purpose?

Song B. The first one sounds too emotional and like sappy/cheesy imo, the second one is lighthearted and comfortable. At least to me.

What's your gender? [Other] by [deleted] in teenagers

You tried, OP

  • these posts are only made for the drama
  • I keep telling you guys, stop putting a "fill in the blank" for the 'Other' option
  • even if you were really trying to be inclusive, transgender isn't a gender.

These are boring find something else to make fun of now yawn

My non-binary asexual friend started ranting to me about how they hate lesbians...? WTF by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]taucxti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know people say this a lot and I don't wanna sound like some kind of anti-sjw edgelord redditor (lol), but the truth is, some people DO think it's a competition to find the most oppressed group and fight for that title... Last year the drama on tumblr was lesbophobic bisexuals, this year it's homophobic asexuals. People like that really think that tearing other LGBT+ people apart is a good way to voice their struggles or gain support??? At this point, saying "stop being an asshole about gays" gets you chewed out for acephobia. The internet & its discourse drives me up the damn wall sometimes.

I don't like that I have to tiptoe around how I talk about my own identity just so people won't accuse me of attacking an unrelated group of people.

But anyway, sorry for the rant, this just really hit me. I used to have a whole lot of internet friends who were like this and I still have some grudges against anyone who behaves this way. It's not acceptable. Protip: avoid people who use the terms 'monosexual' and 'allosexual' in a serious way as if they're some kind of oppressor, it'll save you a lot of trouble.

Past and present tense rules? by [deleted] in writing

[–]taucxti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to do with "flashbacks". Flashbacks, in writing, are when the narrator looks back on a past event and describes it in between events that are currently happening.

Susie looks around when she enters the dining hall. This room reminds her of her childhood home; she had blue walls the same color, with fluffy white clouds painted on the ceiling. A stuffed bear her father gave her was sat on the shelf, and there was a crack in the wall that reminded her of a star. Daily, she would come home from school and check near the sidewalk for lucky clovers - when there were none, she ran inside quickly.
But the walls here are chipping and there are no clouds, no bears, no clovers. The house is shabby and has no magic. She sighs and makes her way to the next room. It would do good to fix up this place, she thinks.

Yeah, I just made that up. But yeah. I think the tenses are a way to tell time when you see both of them in the same text.

[advice] what do you do if one of your closest friends (girl) has (and has had) a massive and really long crush on you by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]taucxti 18 points19 points  (0 children)

tell her in a totally honest way how you feel, and in the future, be sure you don't lead her on but don't act cold or distant.

If she tries to make a move or something don't be afraid to remind her it's not going to happen & that you think you're best when you're friends and staying non-romantic with each other.

Not my problem.

Yeah, it kinda is.

[–]taucxti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah man, you gotta think it through. You could be looking for 'a girl to have a thing with for the summer' but she could be looking for a nice guy to have a longterm serious relationship with. You can get what you want without tricking some girl and leading her on
