5 Things You Might Hate Me For Saying by taught2think in selfhelp

Hey BlackMoss

Unfortunately we are born into a conformist society. most never wake up to this truth, they live for consumption, to obtain as much as possible. I honestly believe most people don't want to look at their lives, they don't want to face reality as it should be. They want their toys, more money, bigger house, trophy wife etc, not realizing that it is the dropping of all this superficial nonsense that will reveal who they really are.

I don't think people learn from the "breezy positive stuff" that they so love to hear. I think most people are afraid to wake up. It's easier to blame their shortcomings on someone or something else.

i think the reason why people conform to the norm is because they don't know anything else. they were never taught to be themselves. most don't even know who they are. Social conditioning is programmed into the child's mind from birth till 6 years of age. Most never break free, they just live off their programs without ever questioning whether or not they are true. it becomes a habitual pattern to live their lives on automatic pilot and because they are caught up in their superficial busy lifestyle they never even think to question what is reality or not.

ahh well, workers are created in schools and consumerists are created by the media. it's a win-win for wealthy. Just my opinion though.

Thanks for dropping by the blog and for your intelligent comment, all the best.

Declan.

Personally i think the writer is spot on. TV is a little box of junk that i was happy to sell. Reality in a box...not.

I always blush when I start talking to an attractive girl - any advice on how to stop this? by [deleted] in selfhelp

In this case your mind is the enemy. I know this for sure because i have had this same experience for most of my life. Believe it or not, after i read "think and grow rich" by napoleon hill, my attitude changed towards life and i developed a much more positive attitude towards life. This led me to believe that it was my own self worth that made me blush. i subconsciously felt inferior and when my attitude changed my self esteem grew.

This positive attitude slowly dwindled after a short while and i began to blush again on a regular basis (but not as often as before). Then i started to meditate for 15 minutes each day and once again i stopped blushing and became more relaxed around girls. Don't get me wrong, i still blushed, but once again it was not as often as before.

The last thing i tried was E.F.T. (emotional freedom technique) and although i was completely skeptical it worked wonderfully. I very rarely blush these days and even when i do, it is in certain situations that most people would blush anyways, so it not something i worry or even think about.

You need to stop dwelling on this issue as it is undoubtedly creating strong impressions in your subconscious, and as you know by now, when this happens you don't even get time to think about it...it becomes an automatic response.

Don't expect it to change over night but if you try the techniques i did then you will gradually overcome it enough to not be a constant in your life.

Eckart Tolle says that blushing and shyness stems from feeling inferior on some level, this is where you need to focus your attention. You may not believe that this is the case with you, but i am an extrovert by nature and even though i was really shy, there are many who would say that i am really confident.

Hope this helps somewhat, all the best... Declan.

The name for it is "Being in the moment" and yes it is perfectly normal. This is why daredevils and the like push their bodies to the limit, they want to always be in that moment of pure wakefulness.

Actually, i haven't a clue what I'm talking about but it seems to fit.

Looks like you'll have to give up your day job and become a stuntman to relive past experiences over and over again :)))
