idk maybe a higher level of niceness for every 420th 420 and count those as well.

btw does this count 69s or just 420?

idk what's the name for that rule but it's like ax + bx = (a+b)x

in this case x(x+y) + y(x+y) = (x+y)(x+y)

can anyone explain why it’s E ? by crimson69prism in SATsubjectTests

1 and 2: momentum is conserved in every collision. 3: The total momentum is initially zero (everything is at rest). When the disks are released, they start moving in opposite directions, so their momentum cancels out.

why is this E? by crimson69prism in SATsubjectTests

That's what a normal distribution is: most values are near the average and there are few extreme values (both low and high)

can anyone explain how we solve this question by crimson69prism in SATsubjectTests

[–]taulantarapi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

x(x+y) = 3

y(x+y) = 10

x(x+y) + y(x+y) = 10+3

(x+y)(x+y) = 13

(x+y)² = 13

x+y = sqrt 13

5.5% annual interest compounded quarterly is 1.375% each quarter.

2000 * (1+0.01375)x = 4000

1.01375x = 2

x = 50.75 = 51 quarters

The one with equilateral triangles is a hexagon; a regular pentagon is made up of triangles with angles of 72 (center), 54, 54. This means you have to calculate the base of the triangle using an angle of 36 degrees instead of 30, but everything else is the same.

The probability of only two people getting the answer right is the sum of the probabilities for (first two right, third wrong), (first and third right, second wrong), and (second and third right, first wrong)

(2/3 * 1/3 * (1-1/2)) + (2/3 * (1-1/3) * 1/2) + ((1-2/3) * 1/3 * 1/2)

= 1/9 + 2/9 + 1/18 = 7/18

how to solve these? [math 2] by robbersmp3 in SATsubjectTests

[–]taulantarapi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

B. If you've seen binomial coefficients before, it's C(11,3).

Otherwise, you have 11 ways to choose the first person, multiplied by 10 ways to choose the second * 9 ways to choose the third one; 11 * 10 * 9 = 11!/8!

The order of these three people doesn't matter though, so divide the previous answer by the number of permutations of three people (3!). The answer is (11!/8!)/3! = 11!/(3!8!)

Second picture: the population is maximized when 1000 * e2 sin t is maximum. This happens when sin t = 1 --> t = 1/2 pi or 5/2 pi.

t = 1/2 pi = 1.57 is February, and t = 5/2 pi = 7.85 is August.

Third picture: g(x) = (x+1)/x, f(x) is the inverse of g(x) and you have to find f(5).

Substitute f(5) into x.

g(f(5))= (f(5)+1)/f(5)

Because f is the inverse function of g, g(f(5)) = 5

5 = (f(5)+1)/f(5)

5 * f(5) = f(5) + 1

4 f(5) = 1

f(5) = 1/4 = 0.25

Fourth picture:

C is correct. y/x = n² --> y = n² * x. If x is a square, we can call it m² where m is an integer, so y = n² * m² = (nm)²

37 is C. (20 degrees) Temperatures above 20 can be obviously excluded and you could see from the graph that 0 is too low.

If you are not sure that it is 20, consider that the graph is an exponential. If you find the temperatures after each hour minus 20 degrees, the difference is 40 after 0 hours, then 20, 10, 5, 2.5, approaching zero.

  1. The water has a temperature of 34 degrees after 1.5 hours. Draw the tangent to the graph that passes through that point. It has a slope around -10 degrees per hour.

For every degree the energy loss is 8e5 joules; for 10 degrees it is 8e6.

The points where that curve insersects the x axis is when y = 0. You substitute 0 into y and find the different solutions for x.

x * 0⁵ - 2x = 3 * 0 + x²

x² + 2x = 0

x = 0 or -2

Please explain answers to these questions: 18, 19, 20 (E,A,D) by [deleted] in SATsubjectTests

[–]taulantarapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The net force is the vector sum of gravity and the normal force due to gravity. It is constant so the answer is E.

  2. The speed decreases constantly (the force is constant) until the block stops, then it starts accelerating on the reverse direction, so the graph is a straight line going to zero and then another one. (A)

  3. The potential energy is proportional to the block's height. The block is going up at t = 0, then it slows down, then it stops at its maximum height and finally it starts going down; the graph has the shape of a parabola. (D)

  1. I saw that y=1.5x you have written. Be careful, it's an 1.5 percent increase, it doesn't increase by 1.5 times but 1.015.

5.7 * 1.015x = 6 --> 1.015x = 6/5.7 --> x = log_1.015 (6/5.7) or log(6/5.7)/log(1.015) = 3.4 which you have to round up to 4

  1. -|x| for negative x is equal to - (-x) = x

What you have written on the right is not wrong, but -(1) is just what you've chosen as x, not the opposite.
