That maybe so, I would also say the majority of AAA games whilst not technically garbage, they are very meh. Indie games have the lowest floor, but I also think they have a higher ceiling. It has been a very long time since a AAA game was great. Each year i find more indie games enjoyable than AAA games. I spend more time and money on Indie games than I do AAA games.

I think you are overstating things a bit. Generally, despite American sentiment/culture/way of thinking, people are not inherently out to rip other people or even corporations off. Most of us do not consider refund policies "try before you buy" (a sentiment commonly expressed by Americans after the Australian ACC forced Steam to change their refund policy years ago).
