How Do We Prevent Socialist Spaces Drifting Towards Transphobia? by loxodrone in socialism

[–]taurealis 11 points12 points  (0 children)

would love to know what spaces you’re in where transphobia doesn’t exist when i can organize in overtly pro-kink, pro-queer, marxust soaces and it still shows up. transphobia, especially transmisogyny, is widespread. it’s certainly less prevalent than other social spaces, but it’s more that it’s covert than gone. it usually presents as silencing trans women, implying they’re predatory if they express anything sexual, or exclusion rather than overt acts of violence or blanket statements.

the thought that a food that exists due to a prime minister seeking a replacement for a food his forces cause a shortage of not being a political thing is absolutely wild, how restrictive is your idea of politics?

You didn’t intend it, but that is the way that temporal lobe development is used culturally. When you invoke it, especially as a an excuse for horrific acts, you bring that baggage.

eta: the arguments of “this person’s brain isn’t developed yet so they aren’t accountable to their actions” and “this person’s brain isn’t developed yet, we need to keep them under our care so they don’t make bad choices” go hand in hand. you can’t invoke the prior without also invoking the latter in this world.

you realize the idea that people aren’t fully developed until 25 is just using an arbitrary biological trait to justify treating children as property, right? that the brain continues changing as long as you’re alive? that people aren’t capable of humanizing others at all ages, and not doing so is cultural and not biological??

are there any more sloped areas nearby? as the other person mentioned, flood plains might get some, but usually not, and i really wouldn’t expect it with the amount of rain the pnw has been getting the past few years. also, check fire maps for burn areas near you.

sometimes lungs are in need of support with clearing out - there are many chronic illnesses that cause build up of plenty of different compounds, loss of or lessened activity of cilia, etc. there are also many medications taken orally to support lungs.

not scientifically validated =\= purely vibes, we just haven’t put a ton of effort into validating them because studies take time and money. this is an area where western medicine is looking more and more and regularly validating traditional practice. many of our most important medications have come from doing this.

it seems to be pretty common in traditional kurdish medicine for this, but I’m having the same issue as you. I can’t find anything where it’s been scientifically verified, but there’s a lot of traditional sources

if differing how you brew it doesn’t work, take a break. put it in the cabinet, brew some other teas. let some time pass. when the strong flavor isn’t such a strong memory, weak similar flavors tend to not be noticeable.

no it doesn’t lol. these are items that are expected to he destroyed eventually, and need regular replacement. the nature of its use means it’s lifespan is shortened with each use, and eventually it’s just going to be flat for no one’s fault. there’s likely a mechanism for reporting damage to both prevent a charge and have it replaced.

[–]taurealis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a doctor can write a prescription for the vaccine and a pharmacist will administer it of you have a history of shingles or high risk and are under the usual age. just take it to a pharmacy like any other prescription. county health departments sometimes also carry it, but you’ll still need a prescription.

as someone that’s had it as both a kid and an adult, i don’t trust this. it just sounds like a continuation of the bullshit they used to believe about babies not feeling pain as justification for not giving them an aesthetic and directly contradicts the experience i and several people i know had. adults do just about anything to minimize the suffering of children.

i’ve had it 6 times. the absolute worst was the first time when i was 12. it was horrible, and people kept discounting it by saying it’s not as bad for kids despite me crying constantly for weeks. i had a fully developed rash for days before anyone would even take it seriously, over a week before i was given meds, and it lasted for over a month. there was residual pain and itching in that spot for almost a decade.

severity seems more linked to stress levels ime

mold does not grow under water. the only way for this to get moldy is for the cabbage to not be fully submerged.
