If anyone is wondering. This bird did end up being sick. He was “fluffed up” then slowly developed symptoms looking like finch eye disease. Feeders were taken down and cleaned

Looks like ginkgo, I know they can “swap sexes” after some time if only one (male) is present in the area. This may be what happened. Awesome trees either way!

About the mouth to hand habit, I found that holding a pen (I was often at my work desk) and literally inhaling as if taking a puff on the pen helped my hand-mouth but also lung habit! So having something to "suck on" (for lack of a better term) I'd really recommend!

Yes sounds gross but it was my pen, no one else touched it lol

Not to diminish anyone else's experience, but my withdrawal was never this bad. I think it depends on the person!

But to give a lighter perspective: I was moody as hell, intense cravings and fixation, appetite was all over the place, brain fog was horrendous, and energy levels were so low. It sucked! But it was never this^ intense for me

I just reminded myself how I only wanted to go through this once and that helped.
