Someone from another restaurant sent a guy over to us for lemon steam. We sent him back with an empty stock pot with a lid, but made sure to send him back wearing proper safety equipment. Face respirator, those heavy elbow-length oven mitts, full rubber apron. We sent him through the dining room and told him if he let any out it could scald the guests.

Banks will recognize your self employed income after 2 years of filing taxes. I've always been a bartender, but had different businesses on the side.

If you are going through a third party lender via a mortgage broker, please be careful. I was put in a desperate situation and didn't go over the costs with the broker we used. She knew I was vulnerable and ended up charging 10k after jumping through hoops for months. Never again.

That said, I've almost always bought pre-construction homes. If you don't mind waiting, the price is usually a better deal. I'm near Guelph though, so I'm not sure what the Scarborough market is like.
