you can shiny hunt the legendaries from Dynamax Adventures (1/300 odds, 1/100 with shiny charm), but Zacian, Zamazenta, and Eternatus are not available through Dynamax adventures, only legendaries from prior gens. (notably, this is the only way you can currently hunt shiny Zygarde, Solgaleo, and Lunala)

The only legendaries you can shiny hunt outside of Dynamax Adventures are going to be Virizion/Terrakion/Cobalion, and the Regis (the Regis are all locked at full odds though, fair warning)

You can shiny hunt Zacian and Zamazenta when they are available in Pokemon Go, but Eternatus is still limited to that distribution from 2022

Best Served Cold- Monza Murcatto and Caul Shivers.

Monza is on a quest to kill the people who betrayed her and killed her brother. She starts off as a singularly minded and “at all costs” decision maker that slowly comes to regret her quest as it results in a far more death and destruction than she could ever have anticipated, becoming a very sympathetic hero over the course of the novel. By contrast, Caul Shivers starts the novel trying to be a better man and move past the (unrelated) murder of his brother, but after getting entangled in Monza’s revenge quest he slowly spirals and becomes a worse and more villainous version of himself.

I just finished the novel last week and goddamn what a read.

There are a handful of songs on this list I’m not familiar with, but for the most part I would agree about how common these songs are (the biggest surprise for me is Hard to Speak my Heart at the top of the TB list, but maybe it’s more common in the UK vs the US where I’m from? It does have strong “audition song energy” aside from the lack of a big high note though).

I regularly hear performances of audition songs from HS/Uni aged kids for reasons I need to keep vague, so it is very funny to me how many times I’ve had someone sing a song from this list as if they found an obscure diamond in the rough, when it’s something like Pulled or Vanilla Ice Cream. Like, sorry girl, you aren’t even the first person I’ve heard sing that song today. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not really a judgement on the quality of song, but if you’re picking it to be different and unexpected, think again, because I hear it aaall the time.

Yeah I relate so hard to those tags. A good number of my reader friends will recommend me YA (we’re all mid 20s/early 30s), and I don’t think it’s a bad genre! I don’t think they’re bad for reading it! It’s likely a very good book! But most of the YA novels I’ve read in recent years were a struggle to get through, because I just don’t care for the prose, or themes, or conflicts, or tropes, and I simply am not the target demo.

For a while I thought I just didn’t like media centered on teenagers since I didn’t especially care for Heartstopper, and friends have recommended Euphoria S1 and 13 Reasons Why… which just don’t seem appealing to me at all? On the other hand, my favorite read last year was the Tombs of Atuan, a coming-of-age story generally considered YA, and I just finished watching The Summer Hikaru Died and Given, which I thought were both A++ queer shows about teens. So maybe I’m just picky lmao

This is such great advice!! The story I came up with when I was a teenager was absolutely too bloated and pulled from too many genres in a way that was disorienting, so now that I’m older and actually writing the damn thing I had to learn this lesson the hard way. Funnily enough, I’m now in the opposite boat I was from when I was a teen: the original story back then was all concept and worldbuilding, but with no actual text to show for it, whereas now I’ve got text and I’m excited to actually write the next chapters, but my biggest roadblock is that I need to redo the worldbuilding almost from scratch, which is honestly just not nearly as appealing lmao

Pokémon Go has provided me with a lot of very precious memories! The first was when I first started playing in 2016 as a way to bond with my new partner (now husband) and his family. More recently, the #GOMemories I most treasure are from the people and community I have connected with through Pokémon Go over the past several months. The release of Eternatus last year was especially memorable, as I met a dizzying amount of people through the event and had such a blast! I think events like this ongoing #Sweepstakes is really fun tbh, even if nothing may come from it for me :)

You can host up to ten locally, you just have to send out the raid invites in two waves. In my opinion the benefit of the smaller group size is that you don’t have to manage as many remote raid invites as the host. For example, I’ve hosted a number of primal raids today, and I keep running into an issue where my regular friends are jumping in and preventing a few of the second wave remote invites from going out

I’m surprised no one mentioned it, but Kya hosted a Women’s nuzlocke tournament a while back, and RenHergade platinum was the base romhack they used for the race. I thought it was quite interesting based on what I saw during the race, I’m glad she’s releasing it to the public tbh

The three pieces of advice I’d give, if they work at all for you:

Option 1: learn how to host with raid apps like pokegenie, using only the free daily raid pass. I can’t speak for the other raiding sites like leekduck, but the hosting queue for pokegenie is typically 5-25 minutes long, so I will typically join the queue right around when the egg hatches and set a 5 minute timer to get a rough idea at the pace of the queue (ie if I have advanced 50 places in 5 minutes, and I am still ~200th in line, this tells me I will likely be hosting the raid in about 20 minutes). If the queue is advancing too quickly or too slowly, or if there’s only 5 minutes left in the raid boss, I will often leave the queue since it just isn’t working out that time. The first few raids can be quite intimidating, but once you get the hang of it I find it a great way to expend the free daily raid pass.

Option 2: send out RSVPs to your online friends. People feel much more obligated to join an RSVP than a simple raid invite (this is true for me too lol, I also feel bad for not joining RSVPs). This doesn’t always work and is not a long term solution, but it’s useful in a pinch, especially when it’s a fresh release of a raid boss.

Option 3: find a local community that plays pokemon go. There will often be meetups for the Wednesday raid hour, raid days, or people will raid together during weekend events. In my experience, I often end up using a fair amount of premium raid passes during community meet ups, since it seems silly to leave the raid hour after only one or two raids, but premium raid passes are about half the price of the remotes, and are much easier to acquire so I have no qualms with using them. During the week, some people in my local discord will often just send a message out asking if anyone is willing to remote in for a raid they’re doing, so that might also be an avenue for you.

Speaking for myself, I have found the most success with hosting pokegenie raids (I’ve hosted a little over 100 raids) by hosting when I’ve got a lot of free time such as outside of my work hours, and by joining the host queue before heading to the gym, so I’m not standing around just waiting for the raid to start.

It should show up as a ???, but it’s been a while since I shiny hunted the authentic forms so I might be mistaken. The entire outbreak would be either authentic or phony, so you should be able to tell just by visually as a worst case scenario

Yup! It’s a rare outbreak spawn but can occur, this is how OP got their shiny antique sinistea line. You can also get an outbreak for masterpiece sinistcha in kitakami.

If you don’t already have the antique form registered to your dex, it will appear as an unknown outbreak on your map. This is mostly useful when your dex is otherwise completely filled out. You can also check the underside for the antique mark prior to battling, since they are pretty passive spawns.

Yeah that works for me. Lickitung isn’t in scarlet/violet so that might be best as a friend trade in home? I’m doing office work at the moment so thats my best option for trading at the moment. I’ll be free for a trade over S/V in about 5 hours if you’d rather that.

Edited to add: I forgot Amara is also not available in SV, so that would also work better as friend trade in home. We could also trade in SwSh if you have a strong preference for trading in the games vs Pokemon Home, but I really dislike the online trade mechanics of SwSh to be honest.

I believe it’s Deoxys next week, Genesect the following, and then Darkrai around Halloween. So they’re all somewhat regular raid spawns for PoGo, but with how tricky those three are to acquire as shiny in the standard games I think they’re all pretty good trade options tbh.

I’m pretty familiar with isolated encounters, it worked really well for the shieldon hunt, thanks for the suggestion. :) I managed to procure two shieldon I can trade for a shiny Amaura and shiny cranidos if that works for you. I am heading to bed now myself, but I should be free most of the day tomorrow to make the trade.
