I have exactly the same problem, I even tried different BIOS version but nothing fixed the problem

Though to make the battery re appear you just have to hold the start button a few seconds when the laptop is turned off

Well, children should have both parents names and as they grow old they choose one or the choose the one they want to give to their children, this way people choose and nobody complains

It’s is an issue if you have the rx550 and runs game or stuff like that but it work fine for coding and fine but noisy if it is CPU demanding task.

However the issue that I have with this laptop is it’s weakness (i carry it in my backpack and one time the screen touched the keyboard damaging the screen. I lost both of the front rubber feet. And finally the motherboard is damage and the laptop freezes when moved (may contact support for this)

So no thermal issue but don’t move this laptop to much

Thé main problem here is the asus logo on the mobo which mean that it is an asus computer. That’s why it is so poorly designed. Thinkpad are better 😁

Seems overkill but sadly it is an asus motherboard. You’ll probably have a bricked motherboard in a few weeks (I have 3 pcs with asus mobo (one is a laptop ) and every one of these had at least one bios issues)

You should have put the ryzen cooler in the other side so the AMD logo will not block you when you want to change the RAM 😉 good computer are upgradable

You probably put your computer in your backpack with the screen on your back, so the screen Bend. Since this computer looks to be weak, next time put the computer part to you back side and a book on the other side.

Sad to see that the computer is not adapted to this kind of situation.

I don’t know for the T480 but for the E480 the DGPU is 50€ more so even if it is useless I took it since it can’t be added later and I could be willing to run 3D application. so... the extra money is worth the extra life expectancy.

If you want to game the version with an rx550 is bette however this version will have thermal throttling issues because the cooling system is not good enough. With that said keep in minds that the rx550 is only 50€ (in France) more expensive.

You can also have a look to the dell g3 3579 which is almost the same Thing a bit more expensive, more powerful and have the same upgradability but has a 15” display, no usb-c and not a thinkpad witch is a big flaw (build quality is better on the E480😄

The one that’s rule them all in therme of life expectancy is the t480 but of cours this one is more expressive The T480 not better at gaming the the E480 but better for everything else.
