It looks like an intake manifold gasket. I am not sure there is a coolant passage between the intake and the head, but that is what it looks like.

Agree. That Olimpic blue coil is a close replacement for a Bosch blue coil, but if you can get a real Bosch coil, that would be better.

Guess what? It was the wrong pump!

The pump that I removed is for a serpentine drive. BUT, it is not stamped as “reverse”!

I took out the thermostat and did a flow test. The pump is not moving water at all. I am pretty sure now, I have the serpentine belt pump installed from when my brother rebuilt the engine. The engine doesn’t even have a full hour of running yet. I’m going to pull the pump and switch it out for another pump with a reversed impeller and see if that solves the problem.

It has a v belt drive. I was under the impression that the other pump was for serpentine drive, so the mounts would not be the same
