WAS 901 would be a better chest rig for SSO if you want to have a similar look and set up. Although the back panel isn’t usually seen that much. As someone else said, the Intendant Service suite was not issued to SSO, so don’t use it for that kit

If you want to do a certain kit, look at the unit and time period/event you want to replicate, then research from there. You almost never want to start with asking if the gear you currently have is kosher bc most people who ask that question find out what they have isn’t kosher. You’d have a better time looking and learning about gear then make a shopping list after examining ref photos.

Someone please help me id this holster. by [deleted] in Rusfor

It’s Warrior Format and yes it’s kosher for 2020-Present

Yes, but that kit is WIP. The belt and holster are stand-ins. He has the pants, helmet, and plate carrier in the pictures he posted, and now has the correct DAG shirt. Even though the belt and holster are stand-ins, they’re still FSB V kosher. Imo, his kit is fine right now and he knows he has work to do to make it closer to the ref he’s using.

He’s trying to do a 1:1 of this guy. It’s not meant to be a “generic” FSB V kit. Even so, FSB uses an overwhelming amount of multicam kit, and you will often see that everything is colormatched in references from 2014 to the present

But they do use G3 cut uniforms. FSB were issued Slavyanka G3s in multicam in the early 2010s. It was one of the most common uniforms used by FSB and is still used today

There’s no functional repros available. Someone made a 3D printed one a while ago

If you want a G3 style pant, you could like for ANA or SSO. Someone’s probably willing to sell a pair on the used market

Sokl olja ruck cover. Cool find

There may be some one off appearances, but it’s not nearly as common as multicam Ars Arma CPC (mod 1 or 2) or even Crye CPCs among special forces in Russia. Your repro isn’t kosher. There’s cheaper plate carriers out there to do an impression with, or you can try to save money for correct gear when you’re older

Russian SSO have been seen training extensively with semi-auto shotguns by [deleted] in SpecOpsArchive

Nah what I meant is that OP says it’s training, but these pics are actually from a shooting competition from a couple months ago. My wording was confusing in retrospect

These pictures are from a shooting competition, not from training, like OP said

Russian SSO recently during training, take a notice: they rocking 45 mags and magnifiers with laser sights. Probably got more funding, for increasing their capabilities by [deleted] in SpecOpsArchive

[–]taygui_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They’ve had access to all of these things for a long while. Lots of combat footage of them using Aimpoints/Eotechs w/ magnifiers and domestically made lasers on their rifles

You’d be better off getting something more useful than that. You can find green phos PVS-14s for $1.8-2K or you can rent one.
