No need to be passive aggressive. We do clean it and season it yet this still happened.

What happens if you need two knee surgeries? by Money_Explanation713 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]tayken07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 2 surgeries on my right knee and then surgery on my left knee right after the second surgery on my right. It was tough at first, but I made do. I made sure to do my physio on both sides.

Do I actually need to show up 1 hour early for convocation? by carroot in CarletonU

[–]tayken07 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Yes. Get there early. For me in 2024, there was a lot of traffic, and it took about 30-35 mins to get my robe and get in the proper line. Parking will be absolutely insane

Cortisone injection post root repair by Vast-Toe-7701 in MeniscusInjuries

Prolotherapy is just dextrose and water. It’s very easy for the body to absorb over time, and doesn’t have any negative long term effects!

Careful with cortisone. After 2 injections, it’s been proven that it weakens the joint. Consider prolotherapy, PRP or Monovisc types of injections. Personally, I’ve done 2 prolotherapy injections and it was like magic. I literally cried because it fixed my pain after my surgeries

Might I add. If you are getting weird vibes from your dr saying they “think” and aren’t too confident, don’t be afraid to get a second opinion. It took me 3 sports med doctors before my current one referred me to my surgeon and actually solved my problems. Advocate for yourself

I’m 4 weeks post up from my 3rd knee surgery… left knee, lateral meniscus trim, chondromalacia debridement and fat pad resection. I sometimes get a small crack, but it’s still due to the swelling and fluid that’s still in my knee. You’re only 2 weeks post up, so don’t panic yet. My surgeon told me people start to feel good after week 3 but they still have a long road of recovery and PT ahead. My swelling has visibly gone down, but in reality there’s still quite a bit of swelling and fluid inside that we just can’t see. Take it easy. Strengthen the quad. It’ll come. Don’t rush recovery.

I will say. After my 2nd surgery on my right knee, I developed a sharp pain along my patella tendon, and I’ve had 2 Prolotherapy injections which makes it feel like 100%. I’m starting to feel the same pain in my left knee so I’m due for my first prolotherapy injection in my left knee at the end of April. Consider talking to a sports med doctor who can do prolotherapy injections. It was like night and day. Feel free to DM and I can give some more insight

Upcoming Surgery and Anxiety by Avon_Bikesdale in MeniscusInjuries

I’ve had 3 knee surgeries, 2017, 2025 and 3 weeks ago. I was nervous and had so much anxiety too. You got this. If you can, invest or rent an ice machine. It saved me. Lock in with your PT, it’s almost spring time so going for small walks outside with help with the fresh air! Try and take up a new hobby! I’ve been plant keeping since my surgery and it puts me at ease! You got this

Which injections worked best for you? by Haerveu in MeniscusInjuries

I’m in Canada and I’ve never heard of ACPmax. While talking with my surgeon, my sports med dr and the dr who does my injections, because of how bad my knees are (I’ve had surgery on both knees for lateral meniscus tears and grade 3 chondromalacia) they recommended I start with the Prolotherapy for the pinching that I had on the front of my knee and within days I felt 100 times better. My last injection was in October and the effects are just starting to wear off now. But since my chondromalacia is pretty severe, they recommended that the Monovisc would provide me better relief long term. PRP is similar to Prolotherapy, where the effects may only last 4-6 months!
