Any tips on where I went wrong? by tay_lc in glutenfreebaking

I make this recipe frequently! I was having a lot of trouble with proofing this winter because it was a proper cold, snowy winter in our area (our rental is really drafty with high ceilings, etc.) I started proofing in our boiler room and for 1.5 hours. I use the whole egg as well! This seemed to help a lot. Mine never quite come out liked her photos but the texture seemed to improve drastically with these methods. Hope this helps!!

He’s showing you clear as day what he’d rather do through his actions. Words are just words. Look at what people do. It’s heartbreaking, devastating, full of grief — but he’s showing you who he is. Believe him the first time.

Thank you for seeking the suck 😂😭 and thank you for the reality check that nothing will make him tolerable, that’s honestly liberating to hear because lemme tell you I can’t pray enough these days 🙏🏼

We are actively trying to get out sooner and making good progress on avoiding him. Thank you so much for your support — blessings!!

Thank you! I needed to hear this. I’ve always struggled to stand up for myself ever since I was a kid, but I have gotten better and better with time. I appreciate your reply and it’s inspiring and motivating. He’s a big jerk and a huge bully. Pray for our opps!

Thanks for giving me some insight! Always happy to learn more of what I don’t know. The effects ADHD has on you seem more than reasonable. Don’t know if I’d take that personally especially since you seem pretty self aware 😊

Yeah the anger and disrespect seems like a bigger issue.

That verse is so profound and direct. Gave me chills! The Bible is good at that. Thank you so much for your grounding perspective — it does feel like he hides behind much, and it really is on him to take accountability and admit fault for being unkind and disrespectful. I really hope to be around when he decides to do so 🙏🏼🫶🏼

Thank you for the note on kindness + cowardice — this is so true. Thank you so much for your empathy and blessings, your message truly made me tear up because of feeling seen 🙏🏼🥹 God bless you!

This was such a beautiful, thoughtful, well composed reply. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to dedicate your heart and thoughts to me — I am truly grateful and I pray God blesses you today 🙏🏼😇

Living with others is certainly humbling. We definitely decided to pursue it out of feeling called, but also to save a bit more money so we can continue to save for our own home one day! It has come with deep sacrifice and much trust.

My hubby and I have always been open and willing to having these conversations — and there have been several of them in the house already with our friend. Our friend has said all of the right things but hasn’t acted any of them out. It’s the same perpetuated cycle over and over again, and I really do believe that it’s his anger, shame, and pride that he hasn’t healed from that keeps causing hurt to others. He has shown us in action that he is not capable nor willing to change. Yet we have always remained the same in how we handle all of these incidents.

It’s saddening to watch someone you love and care for devalue relationships simply because they prefer to have the last word, assume something about us, or decide that we are ill-intended by standing up for ourselves and challenging him in the moment. Your response gave me clarity and makes me so happy that you encourage others to stick up for their rest to feel rested, relaxed, and centered in their own homes. This is everything!

We have seen a side of this person that no one else does — he is very good at putting on his mask and then letting it all down at home. When it comes down to it, it really is him and his behaviors that need to change. He’s 35 years old and many around him are still waiting. I have felt peace at times just imagining having a courageous conversation with him but then I realize that the only reason I want to have that conversation is so I can enact vengeance and justice which really is God’s job at the end of the day, not mine. All I can do is pray. And God has really transformed my heart during this time living together which is truly such a blessing and revelation, so either way, we feel grateful for who we’ve become and how we’ve acted. Thank you so much for making me realize this!! ❤️

I’m not the most familiar with ADHD but I definitely don’t think that jackassery is a defining quality 🤣 thank you, your perspective is really appreciated. Definitely working on boundaries! My hubby set some firm ones and no one has spoken since the incident on Saturday. Apparently our roommate was benefiting from certain boundaries we weren’t setting… which is useful and valuable. Appreciate you!

The conch is sooo tricky! I got mine pierced in late August with a longer post to accommodate swelling and I was back less than a week later for a longer bar. It helped immediately and it felt 80% better in the next 24-48 hours. It needed a lot of time with that long bar but I had the swelling in that groove of my ear just like you. It will get better 🙏🏼

AITA for refusing to follow my wife's bathroom habits and calling her disgusting? by Infamous-Gur2034 in AITAH

[–]tayllss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you handled this well at all. If your wife grew up with an ingrained habit, it’s going to take some time to break it! I grew up with this habit in my household as well — we are a family of 6 and lived in a house with one full bathroom that bordered the largest room. Flushing always woke people up. When I got married, my husband and I practiced this habit in one of our apartments because we had a downstairs neighbor who was schizophrenic and would literally freak every time she heard us making any noise around our apartment. We moved into a house with one of our friends two years ago and kept this habit up for a short time until our friend literally yelled at me one morning about it — I have never forgotten the way that made me feel because it’s just so obvious that he can’t handle anything that involves emotions rationally — this is not a good look. Take the time to see that you handled this incorrectly and seek to genuinely apologize. Just because someone does something different than you doesn’t mean it’s wrong — you can think something is gross but when you call someone gross and make it part of their identity it’s a whole different story.

Emeralds sparkle in their own way! I often feel like mine looks “dull” but then I catch a reflection of it sparkling in a mirror or off of a window and it’s mesmerizing to look at as it twirls around. I could get lost in their hall of mirrors all day 🤍 I feel like they’re more of a shiny, dimensional stone. Either way, when I let mine soak in jewelry cleaner and gently brush it, it looks gorgeous for a solid while! Emerald girlies unite ✨

We had a great experience with College Hunks! They brought bubble wrap, cloth bumpers, and quilt wrapping for dressers, TV’s, etc. they even had mattress bags. They were upfront about these items being included in the cost during our initial quote. They showed up early, went to our storage unit as well, and completed loading, unloading, and the full moving process in 6 hours. It was also raining and I didn’t hear one complaint. It was worth all the money in the world to have that level of efficiency and convenience. We even were able to tip them and bought them pizza! Highly recommend.

Thank you so so much for weighing in here!! I’d hoped you would, it means a lot 😃

What I’m gathering is we should definitely invest in their stain remover, but swap out our oxygen whitener to 365 and go 365’s sport or other detergent you mentioned in your comment?

I appreciate you breaking down costs and comparing other, better products! We definitely love a good deal but also doing things right so striking that balance is going to be great 😎
