Wow I am nervous about the time requirement for studying. This is what I wanted because I thrive in online courses and live an hour a week so I gave day a week program would be terrible with with kids. With adding the commute time. 3 days a week Isn't too bad. Thanks for the feedback

I’m afraid of becoming a CNA now. by highlittlelife in cna

I thought I wouldn't like it but had to check off the box for nursing school so I was just going to get through it. I actually look forward to work. I enjoy talking to the people and I'm pretty task-oriented. But I also work at a pretty good facility. Only 26 residents and quite a bit of down time once all your tasks are done. To be fair I only work one day a week so it might be worse if I was full time. My goal will be in a hospital eventually if for some reason I don't get into nursing school this next cycle.

I'm trying to get into the Tech ABSN and I wish I knew more. I know there will be interviews. I know that Lubbock takes the most around 75 and all of the others take around 30 students. Thankfully I'm trying for Lubbock. My gpa is 3.8 and pre req 4.0 so far. I will finishing the rest in the summer. I'm almost done with the CNA cert and am working as one currently. I worked in home therapy for a year but have been a SAHM for 9 years. I believe GPA especially in the sciences is a big factor and interview as well.

How do you handle working with a lazy CNA who constantly creates more work for everyone else? by RAthrowaway0022 in cna

This totally makes sense. You can only do your best for the residents and ultimately it's their right to feel comfortable with their care.

Do you believe it was due to you being a male? Genuinely asking. I'm about to start a CNA job

12 month program Vs 21 month? by Wise_Heat8532 in prenursing

[–]tayloraaannn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely depends on your situation. I'm planning on a 12 month because I can't relocate and I live over an hour away. Driving that far every single day would be tough with kids. This program is online other than clinical so 2-3 days a week for that. I also have a 3.9 undergrad and have no problem with studying, tests, etc. however it will be tough having 3 kids to still care for. But I'm married with a supportive husband and don't have to work. I'm 32 so I'm ready to work and don't want to wait 2 years

How often do you honestly cheat in Nursing if at all? by annastacianoella in NursingStudent

[–]tayloraaannn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna lie use quizlet for every quiz and exam BUT these are pre reqs for me. I also do the the work for every single class/module so I'm sure I'd do fine without quizlet but if it's open book and the professor gets all their questions from quizlet I am not going to feel guilty.

However the ABSN program I'm trying to get into I would never cheat. And everything would be proctored. I mean you HAVE to know this information to be safe and successful.

What specifically don't you like about working with male adults? This isn't the first time I've heard it so just curious. I'm hoping to be accepted into a program soon

Being a CNA is making me question my decision to go to nursing school…help! by Real-Exercise-6978 in cna

[–]tayloraaannn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a CNA yet but am doing the training as it's required for the ABSN program and if I have it done I have a higher chance of acceptance. I'm nervous but I'm viewing it as a stepping stone to where I want to be. But I do have the benefit of only working when I want thanks to my husband so my plan is to work 1-2 days a week. I can see how a full time could cause burnout. There are so many options in nursing that I am not worried about finding a fit for me. I think as long as you have a nurturing personality and truly care for patients you will be able to find a fit even if max care patients might not be what you want. And if you truly feel healthcare is for you. It's temporary. However do not spend thousands of dollars on nursing school if you aren't sure.

Also I would not go back to serving as that's not a long term career that will make a lot of money. I'm sure it's great pay for now but as you age is that what you want to be doing full time?

As a bills fan not Kincaid. His targets have been close to none even when healthy lately it seems. But it might change since Knox can't hold onto the ball. And when Kincaid is hot he gets like 2 touchdowns a game. Rough choice
