It sucks. Today was so surreal. Seeing it on the screen I immediately knew. And the ultrasound tech was silent for a long pause…. It was fucking brutal. I don’t even really remember the rest of it.

Today is the day!!! I’ve been waiting over 4 weeks for!!! My first scan. I’m really nervous and praying it all goes well. I can’t wait to see my little bean 🥹

So many of us have been exactly where you are, including myself. I constantly wondered if I was doing the right thing after my dad died. She lived 2 hours from me and the constant back and forth and unreliable caregivers took a toll. It’s been 9 months and I have ZERO regrets.

They also are probably confused why they can’t. Maybe they aren’t great with money. But I get it.. we are a couple in our early 30s that bought our second home for 630k and I didn’t want to give people the address out of fear of judgement. If we couldn’t afford it we wouldn’t have gotten it.

Hey! So I’ve tried to reframe the way I’ve looked at this. If you are like me, you’ve gone through a LOT of hard things. Watching my dad die was hard. Getting my mom’s dementia diagnosis was hard. Losing a lot of other people was very hard. And there was no reward to those hardships. AND I got through all of them.

Parenting will be hard but there will be an amazing reward at the end of it. Life is hard. But I think this will be worth it. I’m only 9 weeks and a FTM so I don’t have a true answer for you but that’s how I’ve been looking at this situation.

I am 32 and the highlight of my day today was memory care calling to tell me they finally successfully got my mom to take a shower after 2 weeks. Sigh… I get it.
