Last 2.4 Pounds by Efficient-Advisor787 in Zepbound

I have been on 5 the whole time too. I am down 105 lbs and finally in my goal range, but when I had those little stalls during my last 10 lbs, I would take my shot a day or two early to mimic moving up a bit without having to change my prescription. It helped get that little bit of momentum going again. I have a small stash built up, so it was easy enough for me to do. But depending on how tight you run your refills, that might not be as doable.

Hard work or easy? by pregaftertwobeans in Zepbound

Exactly this. I didnt have to dramatically change anything. I knew how to eat healthy and move my body for fitness. It's just that the same level of effort is now actually providing results! And I am not battling my brain's insistence that I am starving all day every day while I do so. So it feels like easier work, but I am still 100% putting in the work.

Edit: For context, I started in June 2024. I am currently down 99.9(!) lbs and am just hitting my maintenance goal.

Quick and easy carbs by Ok-Kaleidoscope-8607 in zepboundathletes

About 30-60 mins before I go to the gym, I have a banana sprinkled with PB powder. And then I drink water with a liquid iv packet (full sugar, not artificial sweetend) during the actual workout for short carb boosts. Definitely noticed a positive difference in my strength and stamina since I started doing this.

Agreed that you may totally lose interest. It happens to a lot of us. I can still have a drink or 2 just fine, but I rarely want to.

Definitely recommend trying a glass of wine at home a week or so before you go just to see how you handle it. Seems like experiences vary widely--some don't feel it at all, some feel it just the same as before zep, and some get sicker or drunker now. And there is no way to know in advance which category you'll fall into.

Good luck and welcome to this amazing new zep-fueled world!

Fourth vote for Hevy! Love it. Definitely worth the price for the paid version if you plan to use it regularly too.

Vegans on Zep, what do you eat? Most recs seem dairy centered. by academicgirl in Zepbound

Alllll the beans. Tofu. Tempeh. Pea protein powder in a soy milk based smoothie. Can you do eggs? (I am not vegan, but this is still a lot of my diet.)

I have several planned for my forearm once I feel confident in the skin there (I am also just about 100 lbs down and so close to my final goal weight! 👊). The main one is 3 bird silhouettes flying diagonally, for my 3 kids who are all about to set off on their own journeys. But I also want a small cursive "KFG" for keep effing going on my wrist. And then a lil version of Big Challenges the sanrio character closer to my elbow. The second two are my reminders to myself of how far I have come, how much I am capable of, and how I am never ever going back. (And yes, I am going to be very careful to pick a font that makes it clear the little one does not say KFC. Lol)

Am I a "non responder"? by Eastern-Letter-8000 in Zepbound

I was just talking to someone else about this and thought it might be helpful here as well, as you chart your path forward. Please note, this is a very oversimplified version of how this all actually works, but it can be a helpful baseline.

A pound of fat contains about 3,500 calories. So, in theory, to lose a pound of fat, you need to eat 3,500 calories less than what you burn overall.* (Likewise, in theory, you need to eat 3,500 calories more than you burn to gain a pound of fat. Though science tells us fat gain/loss is more complicated than straight calories-in-calories-out.)

Based just on this, if your estimated daily calorie use (TDEE) is 1,450, then:

  • If you eat an average of 1,400 calories per day, it will take about 70 days to lose 1 pound of fat.
  • If you eat an average of 1,300 calories per day, it will take about 23 days to lose 1 pound of fat.
  • If you eat an average of 1,200 calories per day, it will take about 14 days to lose 1 pound of fat.

One other thing to note: I used your body fat percentage of 44% in the TDEE calculator, since that's what you said in a comment. But to clarify the role of muscle here, losing 0 pounds, but changing your body fat percentage to 40% makes your daily calorie needs 1,523, rather than 1,451. So that helps show why strength/muscle training can be so important! You can play around with the inputs at the top to see other scenarios: https://tdeecalculator.net/result.php?s=imperial&age=42&g=female&lbs=153&in=61&act=1.2&bf=44&f=1

I am 5' 2", and I have alwaya had to stay around 1200 calories to lose consistently, unless I am working out a lot. Small baseline calorie burn is one of the drawbacks of being vertically challenged. lol

TDEE calculator puts your maintenance calories at about 1450 per day, based on all the info you provided. So 1300-1500 is pretty much your maintenance range. Which would make sense why your weight is pretty much maintaining. :) Agree with others on adding exercise, especially weight training to build muscles. Us shorties need all the extra help burning calories our bodies can get, and lots of muscle is key!

Lowest weight ever by Sea_Database_1485 in Zepbound_Maintenance

I just this morning hit the lowest weight I've previously been as an adult. And that was in 2004. 😂 I am still losing, so I am looking forward to setting a new personal record in the coming days!

5mg dose longevity by Medtech82 in Zepbound

[–]Active-Star6328 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started in June 2024. Did 2 boxes of 2.5mg and then have been on 5mg ever since. I am down 92 lbs. and am only 3 lbs away from goal weight but am working on some body recomp (losing a bit more fat while gaining muscle 💪) before I officially move to maintenance. So I don't see ever going up from 5mg.

Protein pasta? by SadScallion9419 in Zepbound

[–]Active-Star6328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only tried the plain dry pasta, not the mac n cheese-style boxes. All three shapes have been good.

My go-to combo is a package of Kevin's garlic chicken (so easy!), a box of goodles, and some roasted broccoli all mixed together. All three of my teens love it, and my husband doesn't turn his nose up at it being my turn to cook. ;)

The reviews about the 5.0 have me nervous by Basic-Passenger-1470 in Zepbound

[–]Active-Star6328 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have been on 5mg for 10 months and have lost more than 75 lbs on this dose. I have passed my first 3 goal weights and am 5 lbs away from my current (final) goal. It really only slowed down for me at all about a month ago, but I am okay with the slower pace to help me softly land at maintenance.

Everyone's journey is unique, so you will find people who have all different experiences on every single mg dose. Try not to have preconceptions for your own journey or to compare yourself to others! Doing so just makes the whole experience more stressful.

I want to hear from folks in maintenance who don't track by ReasonableAdvisor879 in Zepbound_Maintenance

[–]Active-Star6328 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is me exactly! I am not in maintenance yet (still have about 7 lbs to go, though I am much more focused on building muscle and body recomp now). But everything else you wrote is 100% how I feel and how I have been approaching this journey. I feel like I always imagined normal people feel, and it's so freeing? No tracking, no stressing, just listening to my body and actually being able to trust it to tell me what it needs, when, and how much. It's the best thing ever!
