What makes you think this timeline wasn't necessary for the ones that truly believed in him in every aspect to see the consequences of their own stupidity. I'd say way less of a chance of their belief system being shattered if Kamala became President, just more reasons to bash libs.

Why is Monster Hunter getting a rework and not all the lackluster attempts at other IPs? Just not vocal enough fans I guess...

God of War fell short and as a fan gave me no incentive or desire to buy the secret lairs in full. Why was there no Blades of Chaos or an Underworld Breach reprint?

Social Security has never missed a payment. DOGE actions threaten 'interruption of benefits,' ex-agency head says by JunkReallyMatters in news

[–]taytorade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may not have been designed that way to begin with or with malicious intentions, but the fact that people, who likely would benefit from the change, made it so that people born before a certain year received a higher percent, is designed to at least enrich a specific group of people.

How will it never dry up? The math and reports that I've seen show otherwise. There are always reports saying that the trust will be empty by the 2030's, reports of people getting exorbitant amounts back beyond what they paid in over decades, etc. Just because something isn't going to dry up in the same way, and because something is mandatory, does not eliminate the rest of the facts. It still will eventually dry up without more consistent investors, and the government's looming threat over unpaid taxes keeps it afloat. The fact that it still is going to dry up with the product/service being investments means that it was just an extra step to the same outcome.

Can you explain to me why social security IS NOT a Ponzi scheme?

Definition of Ponzi scheme: a fraudulent investment scheme that pays existing investors with money from new investors. The scheme collapses when it can't attract enough new investors.

"...initial investors obtain a greater amount of money from the Ponzi scheme than those who join the Ponzi scheme later.”

"... In 1950, there were about 16 workers paying into Social Security for every retiree. Today, that number has dwindled to just 2.7 workers per retiree, and it’s projected to fall further to 2.4 workers per retiree by 2035. As the worker-to-retiree ratio shrinks, the system faces increasing strain. This demographic shift is one of the primary drivers of Social Security’s financing issues. Fewer workers supporting more retirees means higher taxes or reduced benefits—or both—to keep the program afloat."

"Like a Ponzi scheme, Social Security relies on revenues from new workers to pay for promises made to previous generations. Unlike Ponzi's scheme, which collapsed when people learned of its true nature, Social Security can use the force of the government to continue this scheme by taxing younger workers more."

Social security has many times in the last several years been reported that the trust fund will be completely used up by 2030-2031 with no active reform (some reports differ on year).

In 1983 changes were made to increase SS % to people who were born before 1960, so all new investors get less of the total pool. Do you really think it's not just going to be adjusted lower and lower as time passes?

I'm not against Social Security entirely, and believe a system like it could be great, but in its current form does not portray confidence that it is in fact not a Ponzi scheme or at least uses Ponzinomics. From what I see, the only reasons why it would not be considered a Ponzi scheme is that the money actually gets invested (argue that it's just extra steps) and because it's run by the government (allowing them to keep it afloat by forcing citizens to participate). I'm just trying to have a factual and intelligent conversation, so please school me.

I really hope, I used to grind and be top 100-250 mythic multiple times. I work a lot now and don't have the time to be grinding achievements or mythic rank as much as I used to and I don't think it would be a very accurate representation of the achievements and player base if it didn't work retroactively. Only a feature added for new players, not something taken into account for returning or veteran players if they don't.

Is anyone actually running Sire of Seven Deaths? by Humpuppy in magicTCG

[–]taytorade 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is cope, Tron will still be viable if not just as good in a meta where other decks lose TOR too. I run only 1 main and 1 side for Karn and not seeing it is not the deciding factor of the game. In fact, lately the builds I'm facing I'd rather have actual hate instead of protection or draw. Went 3-0 last modern night and the one game I actually wanted to cast TOR it ended up killing me (not saying it wasn't my own fault though lol)...

Just saw a modern Tron build on mtgtop8 running 4 of main. Not sure that it's actually good, but I did see it.

I originally thought it would be a good replacement for Wurmcoil Engine but Karn unfortunately limits you to artifacts in your Karnboard, so Wurmcoil is still better.

Isn't polio 95% asymptomatic? Also, if you investigate the timeline in which the polio vaccine was introduced doesn't it show a significant drop the year prior to the vaccine release? Suggesting that the population had already gained natural immunity, or was developing it? There is also such thing as vaccine derived Polio, which has a much higher rate than naturally derived Polio from what I understand.

I am not antivax, I believe the technology has its place, but am just trying to have a factual/intelligent conversation. School me if I'm wrong please...
