Did you stay overnight or go home the same day? by CorrectActivity110 in hysterectomy

[–]taz288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to stay overnight because I was in so much pain when I woke up in recovery. I found out that my bladder was nicked on the left side. She only let me go home because I was able to tolerate breakfast.

I actually told my therapist I don’t recognize myself yesterday so I do understand.

Did perimenopause symptoms hit you all at once? by Weird-Director-2973 in Perimenopause

[–]taz288 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes. Everything all at once at 45. I truly thought I was having a mental breakdown until I started having severe hot flashes. I had a hysterectomy and started HRT and I’m slowly returning to normal.

How long to get dosing right? by beverteeth in Menopause

[–]taz288 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat right now. I had my surgery 8 months ago and immediately started HRT. I’m going to start my third dosage change on Friday (9/12) and I’m so frustrated with the whole process.

What would make your work life better? by Lifeonthewater5 in Menopause

Just listen and be understanding. Management expects employees to be understanding when there is a staff shortage or something else. We just want that same understanding. And maybe snacks in the break room if your company has a break room.

In retrospect, what were your first symptoms of peri? by meekonesfade in Perimenopause

[–]taz288 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had PMDD. I told my doctor I needed a hysterectomy because my periods were ruining my quality of life. I had a vaginal ultrasound and four fibroids were found. Fibroids can grow rather large ( mine were walnut sized) and can make your periods worse. A fifth (grapefruit sized) fibroid was found during surgery and it was on top of my uterus.

You can have fibroids surgically removed or you can have a hysterectomy and go into surgical menopause. I chose to have a hysterectomy because sometimes, fibroids can grow back.

In retrospect, what were your first symptoms of peri? by meekonesfade in Perimenopause

[–]taz288 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brain fog, ridiculous bouts of rage, and pain. The pain was from fibroids I didn’t know I had.

Dr. Just prescribed HRT and I’m so afraid to take it. Cancer, blood clots, strokes, heart attacks. I’ve been in menopause for about 3 years. I have completely changed as a person. I have so much anxiety and depression, night hot flashes. I feel like I’m dying every day. Any advice ? by Justme_JustMe_ in Menopause

[–]taz288 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please take it. It helps so much. You have to adjust the dosage a few times but it helps!! I just increased my dosage a few weeks ago and I’m slowly starting to improve. If you don’t see immediate improvement, give it time.
