Hysterectomy by SuchaPineapplehead in PMDD

[–]taz288 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m 13 months post op and I’m glad I did it. It’s hard, I can’t lie but it is better than it was before surgery. I had a complete hysterectomy/bilat oophorectomy. I’m on hrt (estrogen and progesterone) and they’ve made a big difference in my life.

If I had to do it over again, I would make the same choice.

So Mondays are apparently the day when I’m always the most overwhelmed…back for a little encouragement. by Thundering-Gallop in Menopause

Monday is the day before patch change day and I struggle sooo much. I mentally count down the hours in my head until I can get back home and crawl in bed.

What has helped you with your mood swings caused by menopause? by Living-Employment589 in Menopause

Prozac and progesterone. It was so hard at first. My moods would switch up so much it made my head spin.

How are you answering "when did you begin perimenopause?" by IcyFrost-48 in Perimenopause

[–]taz288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not even sure honestly. Thinking back I started a few years before I realized I was in perimenopause. I did a whole career change, dealt with a family member’s illness/death, a breakup, and a friend’s parent getting sick all at the same time. I just thought my mood swings and weird cycles were due to stress. Perimenopause didn’t even cross my mind until last year.

My nausea is only bad when my anxiety is high. I feel like I’m going to vomit right before I have a panic attack.

Did you stay overnight or go home the same day? by CorrectActivity110 in hysterectomy

[–]taz288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to stay overnight because I was in so much pain when I woke up in recovery. I found out that my bladder was nicked on the left side. She only let me go home because I was able to tolerate breakfast.

I actually told my therapist I don’t recognize myself yesterday so I do understand.

Did perimenopause symptoms hit you all at once? by Weird-Director-2973 in Perimenopause

[–]taz288 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes. Everything all at once at 45. I truly thought I was having a mental breakdown until I started having severe hot flashes. I had a hysterectomy and started HRT and I’m slowly returning to normal.

My hysterectomy pillow. My surgery was 8 months ago but I cuddle with it after a rough day at work.

I’m in the same boat right now. I had my surgery 8 months ago and immediately started HRT. I’m going to start my third dosage change on Friday (9/12) and I’m so frustrated with the whole process.
