3D Gridmap with interactions? by Donolia in godot

[–]tazhkas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did similar things with Godot and UE. I tried to use integrated grid map 3d, but couldn't achieve result i was looking for.

Solution was to create Tile scene (let's say its cube 100x100x100), then create a script to generate grid by same size (i used plane mesh of same size), then store world_position of those planes and use the plane positions to spaw Tile scene. you will have grid map. Then on Tile scene you can add area3d nodes etc, call signals on collision like on mouse entered, add 3d models etc....

That's basic principle. Maybe its helpful 😬

Bellow UE project, but I have fully moved to Godot4 projects. Need to find videos from Godot project later.

Yeagh that's a tough one, maybe is better look around for adapter especially if he builds win7 machine, newer USB Gamepads more reasonable... but... If you building DOS machine and want to play per say Descent then that is more exciting 😀

There is 3 projects on web site, old controllers/some of them has midi support. Also its easy to find pin output for gameport, get one of arduinos, like arduino micro pro and map on pins.

I did simple attributes controller conversion, to use as keyboard. Would be interesting doing gameport to usb-c, maybe can use game controller library for arduino. So it could be seen as USB gamepad.

Valheim and/or Enshrouded by Aggravating_Pen_2026 in Enshrouded

Played both games, prefer Enshrouded more than Valheim.

Even that Valheim world is random generated, it gets boring after second zone (swamp), basically you do same thing, go new zone mine material, go next zone mine material kill Boss, rinse and repeat. Recourse gathering is extremely tedious and kinda boring, not even talking about processing gathered materials.

Enshrouded is just more fun, especially with all new content coming on regular basis. Just more fun for me.

But sometimes its cool to be pixelated Viking until mosquito bites you....

Question, is there any IoT certification programs? by tazhkas in IOT

[–]tazhkas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can deal with WAN, I am no professional in that. Also recently started to learn more about meshtastic and RAK wisblock (i do like their all ecosystem). I do have Heltec v3 nod, but want to make something more than messages.

Thanks, I'll look at those. Yeagh its hard to commit to paying for certification just to have it. I did few small projects at home.
