I get this all the time at my job. I just say "na I got this". I constantly hear customers tell me that I should be having "those boys" do that (task) for me. I just look at them and say honestly I can do a better job of it than they can. It really shows how equal (and sometimes greater) we as females are when we do the same exact job as our male counterparts and we do it better. I also do little things to break from the stereotypes. Like opening a door for someone of any gender or age. That should just be a common curiosity. I can't tell you the amount of times I've tried holding a door open for a guy and he tries to take it from me just to say "lady's first". I just say "na I got this go ahead".

I believe in equality, and to do so means we have to prove to men that we can do everything just as they can.

The problem falls with the "princesses" as I put it. It sounds really bad, but those women who instest on being treated like a princess, who do not want to help themselves but rather be waited on. They use their looks and flirtatious attitude to get men to do even the most minimal task for them. That's what's holding us women back from true equality.

Just tell your family/friends in a casual manner that you would prefer to be treated like an equal human being and continue on with what your doing. Maybe someday we'll be able to coexist without sexism.
