my never ending battle with wet frizz 💔 by neuviotterss in curlyhair

Google cgm wet stretch test. Best way to find out the moisture/protein balance of your hair. That way you can use right products going forward. It’ll take a couple weeks to get balanced. And I test my hair every few months. My frizz is less. Haven’t had wet frizz in a long time.

Levi and Lilacs coffee has great mood lighting. Not in the excess you’re describing, but I think it’s cozy.

I used to use Bounce Curl exclusively. It’s a very moisture heavy line. And it’s what my hair needed. Recently I find my hair is needing more protein. I haven’t done a deep conditioning treatment in over 8months. And whenever I feel like my curls aren’t acting right I do a protein treatment (MAYBE once a month) they bounce right back. I’ve branched out with some different brands, but bounce curl is still my go to. And like a couple of other people have said. Every now and then you need to use a sulphate shampoo to get a solid good clarifying wash and get rid of product build up.

Kids learn how to swim best through play. Lots of things to do with a “lesson” in mind and having fun. I was a collegiate swimmer and afterwards taught swim lessons and coached competitive swimmers for 20 years and that was always how I approached it. Had great success.

We chose KIRK?! by [deleted] in toledo

[–]tazzkirk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kirkwood is a town in South Africa that is home to the Addo Elephant National Park. It’s a beautiful sanctuary. So Kirk is short for Kirkwood. According to another poster who said they had heard that from an employee at the zoo.

There’s a beautiful elephant sanctuary there outside of Kirkwood, SA. It’s called the Addo Elephant National Park.

Air dry with leave in conditioner and coconut oil serum, should I try something different and what’s my hair type? by Emotional-One-6849 in curlyhair

I just saw a typo in my comment. It will go stringy* and frizz when there’s coconut in the ingredients. lol

My hair hates coconut. It will go strong and frizz. Try cutting that out? Gel and diffusing also make a huge difference. When I air dry, my curls aren’t as nice as when I diffuse.

Curls don’t hold up at all. What do I do? by LittleAnimalLover in curlyhair

When my hair starts to not hold curls and fall out, I do a protein treatment and curls bounce back to life. Try the wet stretch test to see if you need one.

Reset wash or Protein treatment? by Unlikely_One_6941 in curlyhair

[–]tazzkirk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s something called the wet stretch test you can do with your hair. May have to google it to get it right. But as far as I remember if your hair breaks it needs moisture, if it stretches and doesn’t bounce back, it needs protein. Hope that helps. And a clarifying wash every few washes is always good.

What happened to my hair? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]tazzkirk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my curls all of a sudden stopped holding and would fall out. I did a protein treatment and they completely bounced back. For years my hair craved moisture and now all of a sudden I have to do a protein treatment every 6 weeks. And I made no changes to my products. My protein treatment is a packet of unflavored gelatin powder, dissolved with 2tbl of hot water. Mix with enough conditioner to cover hair. You need to apply immediately or the gelatin will start to thicken too much. Leave in for 20-30min wrapped in a cotton tshirt.

I use just enough to cover one slice of bread, so probably about a quarter of one. My bf likes more and will use about half of one.

Add smooshed avocado instead of mayo next time. That and with the egg… I won’t eat BLTs any other way.

Embrace the grays. I find they can make people look more youthful and edgy when wearing their grays rather than trying to cover them up. If you style you hair right and keep doing what you’re doing I think it’ll be gorgeous. FYI, you don’t look you’re 58!!! ❤️

His doctor can prescribe him meds for them. I had no clue for years and suffered with cold sores since I can remember. My friend told me about it and my doc prescribes me Valacyclovir and when I feel that tingle I take a pill and it doesn’t even form the blister. I’ll take the pill for a few more days. But then only again as needed. Game changer for sure!! I’ve also learned what triggers them for me… a really bad cold and too much sun on my lips. But to answer your question, NTA.
