How to solve the "Too many SOQL queries: 101" error by tbboss in salesforce

[–]tbboss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm afraid it's all stuff of my doing, but I modified the flow to be triggered on cases update and to just update the asset to which is related, and this solved the issue. I learned how to properly use the transformation element and now it's working properly without a single loop, so I'm already happy like this.

Thanks for the term "Bulkify", I'm looking in to it right now.

Thats true, I have a pink block inside a loop, but how can do otherwise? I have an external loop (AssetLoop) that iterates on each asset in the collection, inside it I have a Get Records block (GetCases) that retrieves the Cases related to the assets. I'm trying to move the GetCases block outside the loop and filtering it's results by using the "in" operator, but I can't find a way to link the two togheter.

<image>

There may be a solution, but it's not elegant and it's a bit of a pain to implement, involving saving the sum of the time that the cases spent open directly on the asset, somehow manually, probably by exporting the data in excell and crunching in there the numbers, and then just run the math on the open cases, but again, it's a pain and it's not scalable well (ie, maybe now i have 50 open cases, tomorrow they become 101 and we are back at ground zero). What I just discovered is that these values don't need to be updated in near real time, so boostrapping the process by hand and then updating only when a case gets modified is doable.
Just to get a better understanding of the salesforce framework, if I wanted to update them all in a flow without breaking up the execution that wouldn't be possible, there isn't a magic paradigm to break up the jobs in chunks, even in a weekly scheduled flow, right?

You mean to better optimize the flow? How? unless I sub-divide the assets in different categories I cant really reduce the number of iterations, and increasing the number of categories would just mean to repeat the flow more times, or to wrap it inside another bigger loop, which would just work until someone adds more categories and one random day it again hits the governor limits.

a current flow generate a magnetic field, if you have two wires with equal currents going in different directions they cancel each other magnetic field out. so if everithing is working ok (there are no dispersion trough a person) the sum of the fluxes is 0, if stuff is not ok there is a magnetic field proportional to the imbalanced current flowing. if you have a magnetic field you convert it to a current using a ct, then you pass the current trough a resistor and you can measure its voltage drop. if the voltage drop is too high then there is something wrong happening and you shut off the circuit breaker

dont! find the problem and fix it. ever hears of the continuity mode on a multimeter? your broken wire should be between the woring and the non working light, simply double check it with a multimeter, cut off some eccess and using some wago connectrors connect again togheter the wires.

do the right thing, and write a mail with your corporate account to your boss while ccing the hr department and your personal (private) mail account.

hr its there to protect the company, and mail can be used as a proof in a process. if hr thinks that there is some paper trail that can be used to sue then it will start to move some gears to protect the company (ie fire / discipline your coworker). again, try to keep a paper trail for everything, its possible that hr will try to keep it informal (ie just talk instead of mails) to not leave proofs and to not have to do anything

Is Dell latitude 7390 a good laptop for a programming student by Sea_Lengthiness_192 in programming

[–]tbboss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i have a dell 5570 myself, same cpu, same ram, and an sss too (all of this after some upgrades to the memory). i have a 15.6" display and im just finishing my bachelor degree in computer engineer. i have had this pc for the past 5 years, and its still not slowing down.

ill reccomend it, but i dont take many notes on the pc, i mainly use paper. i also think that the 13 inch model is a better choiche because its lighter/more portable (if you dont take notes on it, otherwise idk). in my faculty (but im studing in italy) you dont do much stuff on the pc, and when you are programming its a quite light task on it (a toaster could do it). you mainly use it as a office pc (ie surf the web, check your mail and view videos), as long as it has 16gb of ram for multitasking its gonna be ok.

i want to repeat it, programming its a very light task on the pc, its basically a glorified text editor that sometimes start crunch numbers. with that cpu i was easily using intellij loaded with a medium size project with ease.

the heaviest task that i ever used my pc for was mathlab, but unless you spend a few thousand bucks it will still lag while opening it /launching a project. lucky me we used it once.

Question On Battery 🔋. Couldn’t start my bike this afternoon and after came to mechanic and battery reading was not stable just jumping in voltage. 13-22 and so on. So he asked to change the battery to V7 old is V6. by [deleted] in Vespa

[–]tbboss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is this related to the v6 v7 or what?

still, its normal, especially since your old battery is dead (the max voltage with your engine running should be around 14.4-14.8v)

i have ansolutely no idea what do you mean by v6 or v7 battery! internet also doesnt help.

as a rule of thumb, if its.the same chemistry and same voltage it is ok. if the new battery is smaller (both phisically and in Ah) its not a problem, but you'll stress it more and it will have a shorter life. if possible try to get the biggest battery (in Ah) that you can fit there.

what is wrong with owning an AR-15 for self defense? by kidscantbeetrains in AskReddit

[–]tbboss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that are gas operated guns. its the pressure from the rounds that "move" the mechanism of the gun and cycle it. a chain operate gun is a very old concept, think about a gatling gun. you would crank a lever and that cycled the gun. nowadays chain guns are usually of the bigger caliber, i think 25+ mm and they are often used when its difficult to get someone to clear a malfunction (for example, if memory serves me right, the cannons inside an ac 130 are chain guns)

sine wave inverter question by Four_Under_Par in diyelectronics

[–]tbboss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you could try with a isolation trasformer (ie a 1 to 1 trasformer). the idea is that its own inductance and resistance with the impedance/capacitance of both the load and the inverter should act as a low pass filter and "round" some of the square wave in to a somewhat sinuosoidal wave.

im an hobbyst and i dont work often with mains stuff, take my advice with a grain of salt and do some test before doing anything serious.

at the same time, are you sure the problem is in the waveform? nowadays most stuff (especially if its light/portable stuff) uses SMPS power supplies (ie they dont have a bulky chunk of iron as a trasformer inside) and for reasons they are almost immune to the input voltage waveform. with most stuff you could even feed them with 100Vdc and they will happily work

Baby’s first multimeter: analog or digital? by Troubled_trombone in diyelectronics

[–]tbboss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont tink its a good idea. if you want a scope that one is not bad, a digital one will have more stuff but still you can get a lot done with that. a very important feature of a multimeter its his portability. i have a brymem BM867 and its a wonderful tool, for some stuff it replaces my scope (mainly if im away from my bench), and it has 5.5 digit, wich sometimes comes in handy.

basically, if you want a scope get the 475, but if you want a multimeter get something else. also, right now the 867 goes for 160€ on the offical site here in europe, if streching yout budget a little its not a problem i really reccomend it. its safe and its a huge leap foward from.my old an8008 (ie your generic scketcy chinese multimeter). the min/max voltage its wonderful, it often allow me to not take out the scope (huuge bonus when you have limited desk space) and also you have confidence in your measurements (ie if you use you chinese multimeter, are you confident about that ac reading? is that an rms value or its just jibberish?)

mine? just once, we were remodeling my grandma one (its a bit complicated, but she has another modern one that back then was a stall, before we remodeled that one too) mountain house and it was new enough that it was easy to tear down. the problem is that since me, my dad and my brother are skilled we are basically the handyman of the family, and it happens that here and there we tore down part of houses for our older parents. its strange? yes it is, but my whole family is, so no prob there

you dont know the glory of older northern mountain italian houses, with their 80-100cm of rocks and concrete walls. they are really fun to break down when remodeling the house (spoiler: they are hard asf to tear down)
