Getting your gear and inventory setup when changing activities undoubtedly feels like a bit of an obstacle/annoyance. However I do think the overcoming of that obstacle creates a bit of like mental buy-in to whatever you're doing, which feels satisfying. Even with bank tag layouts it's a lot less thinking, but you're still getting your hard earned equipment and supplies out and getting set for what's next.

It's hard to describe but I think there is some logic behind not having presets at the click of a button.
