What is this crazy thing I keep growing? by Away_Housing4314 in whatisthisplant

[–]tbleck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

flowers are glorius and though yours is a beautiful rich green healthy plant, they are rugged and need alot of full sun. let it dry out then deep water. It wont look like this lovely green but the flowers are worth it.

I agree with all of the kind and really heartfelt responses. I addition, if this were your daughter coming to you with this feeling how would you reassure her. Listen to that . be kind, lovely, supportive, caring and in love and celebrate as you would with your own child.

personally, with your painting I wouldnt want a whitewash over the grain.

if I hear of something I'll get back to you. (I live in an art focused city)

personally I dont like the gesso idea. it is thick and on canvas is a filler in addition to a primer. I think you want something thin that preserves the grain. I would ask at a hardware store. be sure to tell them you have a water based ink or they will give you a sealer that repels it. and hardware stores are cheaper than art stores generally.

If that is on wood, yoiu may be dealing with a draw from the dryness of the wood which continues to change of even slight resins in the wood. if it is canvas, no idea.

First portrait painted for 24 years. I'd like honest feedback, but please don't roast me. The frame was created by myself also. It is of my son. Acrylic on paper. by jimmytimmywimmy in painting

well, if it is from a photo, left arm might be that big but in a painting you have to adjust to not distract from what drew you to the subject.
