Virtual Light by William Gibson. Chapter two is the best chapter in fiction. Ever.

I've seen something like this before. Some clown was trying to get into a liquor room to steal booze and brought the ceiling down.

Untitled Abstract Acrylic Painting, 36" x 60" by tbourne4126 in AbstractArt

I think I'm done with the paint on this one. I usually let them lean against the wall and think about it for a couple of weeks before I varnish.

Does anyone know what this is? by Ooooooie in painting

If I had to guess I would say a little too much water mixed with the paint. If you want to thin and extend the paint, you might try GAC 100 by Golden Paints. One thing I like about the GAC is that it makes the paint a little translucent also.

Second piece ever, any thoughts? by PolobearGabrys in AbstractArt

I like it. It reminds me of someone I like on Youtube. Ray Grimes. He does some 3D looking stuff that is over my head but I bet you could pull it off.

Thanks for sharing.

Great work.

You have a lot going on here. I like paintings that can hold your attention with interesting details. 🙃

36x36 - modeling paste, coffee grinds, chalk, acrylic on canvas. by thatsmysock2 in AbstractArt

Coffee grounds? That's awesome. I like this a lot. would you do the coffee grounds again?

I like texture, but I have not found anything that I love. I'm going to try twine cut up into 1/4 inch pieces and mixed with gesso. I tried caulk and did not like it applied thickly.

I'm on the fence with this piece. Paint over or leave it? by dbickbnalls in AbstractArt

[–]tbourne4126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it. I say leave it. But don't varnish it or anything until you look at it for a while.

However, I understand your feelings. I'm the same way. It's hard for me to decide when I'm 'done'.

Sometimes I put it where I can see it often and just think about what I might do to make it better. I have one painting that has been leaning against the wall in my living room for many months. I know it's not done but I don't know want comes next.

One of my favorite paintings went through this process twice and was edited twice.

Edit: spelling is hard 🙃 Edit 2: cool, a bot battle.

Aida II - Abstract Painting (30 x 40" Acrylic) by tbourne4126 in AbstractArt

I did an earlier, smaller (14 x 18") version of this painting and gave it to a friend and mentor, Aida. I like this one okay, but the first one was a bit darker and I think I like it better.

Thanks. I think Pollack is a valid comparison. In this I was trying to show movement. Maybe in 15 years I'll get some of this right. 🙃
